Looking for an authentic Mt. Hood experience? Look no further. This charming cabin puts you in the middle of it all. Situated on the bank of the Salmon River, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of one of the most pristine rivers in Oregon while drinking coffee on the deck, enjoying the hot tub, or relaxing around the fire pit.

This property is also a short walk to the Bonanza Trail, which takes you through many diverse ecosystems in the Mt. Hood Salmon-Huckleberry wilderness, including old growth forests. It's also just minutes away from golfing, and a short drive to some of the best biking, fishing, and skiing in Oregon. This little gem in the woods is your gateway to relaxation and NW adventure.

This vintage cabin offers 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and sleeps six with an additional sofa bed. Well equipped small kitchen and seating for 6. Enjoy your meal next to a small wood burning stove. Free wifi, TV with Roku, and hot tub with a view of the river.

This home is pet friendly with a $60 fee per pet.

Cozy Cabin

Rental Company was efficient, commutative and clear on check in/out process. Very smooth. Property was not as large as anticipated, but cozy. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t super corporative for our stay. We were unable to have an outside fire due to overgrown areas around the fire pit. River/Creek appeared more accessible in photos than it was. Overall nice property and would recommend for a couple getaway.

Room for improvement

Our mission was to have a quiet and peaceful 4th of July for our senior dog...accomplished. Listening to the sound of the river was perfect for his humans. Very relaxing. As for the accommodations, it left a lot to be desired, at least for us. Especially for this nightly rate! There is rustic and then there is this. So many updates need to be done and some as simple as maybe some new curtains in the livingroom, or at least put a decent hem in them. The bath and kitchen towels were old, dingy and fraying. The only comfortable furniture was the queen bed in the front bedroom. The livingroom furniture was really bad, in terms of comfort. We ended up using the beanbag chairs, which for us older folks, wasn't ideal. There were many items lacking in the kitchen for food preparation. Kudos to the PM for doing a little shopping and coming to the rescue. Some basics would be nice as well, like maybe a couple of simple spices, some regular vegetable oil, and how about a little starter bag of coffee? Bath soap bigger than the teeny-tiny bar provided? To borrow from the TV program "Vacation House Rules", maybe Rule #3...Be Your Own Guest! Finally, it's possible that the PUR water filter needs to be changed? We can't confirm anything, but both my husband and I became violently ill. Him on the 2nd to last day of our stay, and me the day after we got home. I'll spare you the details, but it was BAD! Consider bottled water (even for cooking) and ice purchased at the store.

Great getaway and very quiet

Amazing location, very secluded and away from busy life. Hearing the river at night was incredibly relaxing. The hot tub was clean, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms are very well stocked. The house appears to be on a bit of a slant (part of it’s rustic charm) and there were a few dead beetles around the house, but at least they weren’t alive! Deer passed through while we ate outside. Loved it, will absolutely stay again!

Priced higher than what it was worth

The river was lovely and surrounding area great. Nearby store and some restaurants, bakeries. Hot tub would have been great, however, only had a chance to use one night as the temperature decreased rapidly. The second night the water was about 73°. Not much of a hot tub! The house is slanting and so there are large cracks near fireplace, which was not usable, and boards were holding the ceiling up in the kitchen. 😳 When you was from the bathroom to the living room the slant of the house is extremely noticeable there. Neighbors house was really sketchy as it appeared to be abandoned for sometime with all the furnishings out front and around the property, unkempt for sometime.

Disappointed

A warning for all with sensitive breathing issues: this house has mold/ mildew. It hits you upon entering with opening windows/doors doing little to help you take in a clean breath. We coped by getting outside to open air restaurants, coffee shops, rivers & lakes. Also, watch out for the main bed. Although offering a sound matress, hard handles on underneath d

The best part was having the windows open in the evening and night and listening to the river and enjoy the coolness! Great location for a quiet, relaxing hq to go explore the area. The hot tub was nice to use on the deck and the quaint home h Sleeps up to 4 comfortably. Lots of kids and family games available and big screen tv for at home entertainment. The septic tank will need to be replaced soon but highly recommended this "homey" property.

Basic stay in the woods

The place is mostly 'charming vintage' but almost too much so. Musty and a little grubby. Near the river, but the access was not great. We had a great time, but it might not be the right place for some. Beds were comfortable and it was easy to find and listening to the river was pleasant.

Great rustic cabin

We had a great stay at this rustic cabin. It is a stone's throw away from a large creek/small river. Loved sitting in the hot tub at night listening to the creek. Everything was nice & well cared for. The inside was very rustic/old/cabin decor...not new or fancy, but again, nice and enjoyable & clean.

Tranquility

The property was very private. We enjoyed the stay there. Was able to reach someone after hours to get the internet fiured out. We would go again. Hot tub was amazing in the rain!

Great stay

Honestly, I liked this place a little more than I was expecting to! It was very comfortable, very clean and great for a getaway. The wood fire kept us warm (along with baseboard heaters) and we loved floating in the hot tub. Kitchen was well equipped with the basics and the house was very close to the river. I walked out and enjoyed my coffee watching it in the mornings on the bench across the access road :)

Fine for a short stay

The hot tub saved this place. The cabin is actually across the street from the river, and the hot tub is on the front deck. Luckily it is on a dead end street with only one other house beyond, so not really anyone walking by, except for the occasional dog walker. The cabin itself was small, cold and somewhat dark. It was fine for two people and dogs for two nights, but if we were staying longer we would have wanted something nicer. We expected better for what we paid, it seemed expensive for what it was. We contacted the rental office and we were allowed to check in an hour early. Aside from that, communication with management was poor. The wifi did not work, and none of my messages were returned. Prior to our stay I emailed with questions and those were not responded to, either. Some reviews talked about the fireplace being inoperable but there was nothing in the description or paperwork about that. When we arrived there was no sign stating not to use it, but there were candles inside the fireplace so we didn’t use it. There is a wood stove in the kitchen that works. We enjoyed the hot tub and hiking nearby.

Very nice spot

The cabin was great. Smart TV was good to have and the wood burning stove was really nice. Based on the pictures, I thought it would be more secluded, but there were some other houses right next door. That didn't really affect my stay, they were very quiet, just something to point out. Overall great stay.

Quiet retreat in the woods

Older cabin but very well-kept and clean. Best-supplied cabin we've ever rented. No real yard but nice deck and paths through woods to take dog for little walk. Very restful for those who enjoy forest and creek sounds.

Lovely, quiet getaway

We enjoyed our time here immensely. We wanted a break from the outside world and we got it. It was beautiful, quiet, and clean. It was perfect for a couple’s retreat. We saw deer and hummingbirds, enjoyed the salmon river, and a cool/quiet forest. All the basics were there for us to enjoy our time away. Thank you!

Quiet getaway to the woods

We loved hearing the creek all the time. It was so peaceful. The house is located conveniently near the Old Salmon River trail and the newer Salmon river trail. Why they named the two trails with such similar names is kooky but both are gorgeous. There are lots of amenities nearby if you forget something plus there was several condiments, spices, and cooking spray already in the cabin which was handy. We didn't watch tv but there is one if you need it plus lots of games to play. We loved just sitting on the deck under the trees most of the time. The hot tub is perfect! We enjoyed the firepit too. It was a lovely getaway from the city in the summer.

Cozy and comfortable stay for family of 4

Nice location, close to grocery store in Welches, but also secluded enough back from the main road and right on Salmon River. House was very clean. Our family of four made a lot of use of the hot tub and the kids (6 and 4) enjoyed the bunk beds. In addition to the fire pit, having the indoor stove was great for warming the house in the cool evenings. Overall we had a great stay. Only minor issue was that we could not get the DVD/VCR player to play on the TV but they had Netflix and other TV channels so this didn't take away from our enjoyment.

Lovely setting!

House is in lovely woodsy setting, Salmon River in view and earshot. Interior is comfortable, with wifi, tv, and other media; full kitchen amenities. Best part is the fireplace! Massive stonework, fireplace on one side and fireplace insert on other. Cool.
