This home features large rooms filled with leather and wood furnishings, as well as modern conveniences, including updated appliances, a gas fireplace, WiFi throughout, and cable and DVD-equipped television.

Head outside to find an expansive backyard deck with seating for al fresco dining and a nearby covered outdoor hot tub. Just beyond the property lies the picturesque Salmon River, and it's just a short walk along a nature path to arrive at its rocky banks.

You'll have everything needed to whip up homemade meals, along with indoor seating at a six-seat dining table. There's even a gas grill for summertime barbecues.

When you're not off exploring the wilderness surrounding this home, a game room provides plenty of indoor entertainment with a card table, a bar area, a foosball table, and a TV.

Up to 12 guests are accommodated in five bedrooms. Four have king-size beds and the fifth bedroom has a queen-size and two twin-size beds.

Other amenities include a private washer/dryer and a wrought-iron bench overlooking the river on the backyard nature path.

Local attractions include Government Camp's village, which has quaint shops and country stores, hikes in the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness (a main trailhead is just down the street), and spa/wellness services at the Spa at Mt. Hood.

We loved everything about this property: the access to the river, the detached game room, the hot tub, high vaulted ceilings with views of the towering fir trees, proximity to great hikes, and spacious interior (slept 12 comfortably). Wish our stay could have been longer.

The places was perfect for our needs. Plenty of space to house our extended family and plenty of room to sit around and play games, prepare meals, and just relax. The hot tub is amazing and the view out to the river was beautiful. The house was clean and tidy, and looked well maintained. The decor was perfect for our ski weekend. We’d love to come back again!

Our stay was great. The house was clean and had many entertaining things to do with the family. The game room in the garage had a bad internet signal, but other than this everything was great. the kitchen was fully stocked with all you need to have a nice vacation which usually not the case in these rental properties.

10/10

This house is RIGHT on the Salmon river and is the prime value in it. What a great location. The house is well laid out, has enough bathrooms, a well stocked kitchen, and good amenities. It has a bit of that early 2000's remodel vibe though. Not super classy and chic. More lived in, cozy. Some drawers in the kitchen were broken and the garage smelled like VERY bad animal pee, so we didn't go in there at all. The beds were decent - memory foam. And everything was quite clean. If you want an affordable, no frills house that is cozy and an incredible river spot, this is it.

If you want to be on the Salmon River, like hot tubs, and close to Mount Hood Forest, those are the pluses. The minuses are the interior of the house in general. It is outdated and needs much improvement. i.e. new carpet, get rid of old brown rugs, needs a new oven/stove and some nice blankets on the beds. For close to $1000 per night over Thanksgiving weekend, I except better. I would not rent it again.

The setting is amazing - right on the river. The listing is misleading as it's 2.5 bathrooms, not 3. With only two showers, it was chaos on the first night for the whole family to wait for showers to become available. The glass shower door on the 2nd floor shower is completely broken and we couldn't get it back on the track. It felt and sounded like it was going to fall off any time we opened/closed it. It was very annoying. The kitchen could use more dish towels - there were only a couple which was not enough for our family when cooking 3 meals/day in the house. The few negatives did not hinder our trip too much and we still had a great time.

This is our second year in a row coming to this vacation property! Overall the home and property are amazing. There is plenty of room within the house to spread out and the kitchen is fully stocked for any meal you’d wish to prepare! Unfortunately we were disappointed by a couple things this year. One, there was a large wasp/bee nest on a tree that blocked our river access. The kids were unable to safely get down to the water without risk of being stung. This was quite the bummer seeing as how we pay a lot of money for the river “access”. This is something that should be promptly taken care of so it does not become a liability issue. We also noticed that the upstairs shower did not drain well. This meant we were standing in several inches of water every time we showered, and the water would take several hours to drain from the tub after use. Again, neither of these are “end of the world” problems. But, when you pay so much to rent a property these are not things guests should be dealing with.

We had seven people in total - two kids, and five adults. There was plenty of room for everyone - a great big dining table for everyone to fit around, lots of comfy seating, and the softest beds I've ever slept in. The view to the river is picture perfect, and sitting in the hot tub while it snowed was just what we needed after long days up the mountain. The place was very clean and had pretty much everything you need - lots of toilet paper and toiletries were provided, there were towels for the bathrooms and the hot tub, and the kitchen was stocked with the basics too. We also noticed that the pans seemed pretty new, and the only head scratcher was the drawer full of whisks? (My niece counted at least nine!) The only thing to note is that the road to the house can be a bit tricky with the wrong kind of tires. My sister's rental car had some trouble getting out, but that's on us and not the house! Loved this place and would definitely stay again.

This house was very comfortable for our group of six adults and one infant. The location on the river is really nice and there are great hiking trails right up the road. Very close to Mt. Hood and there is a grocery store and restaurants close by. The property managers were very responsive to anything we needed. I would stay here again.
