"We hardly had a wink of sleep in the tiny first floor room we were allocated at this pub (I hesitate to call it an hotel) because of the noise from the lively bar below. Even when the pub emptied some time after midnight the disturbance continued as staff quarters were situated directly above us and, once they left the bar, loudly creaking floorboards continued to keep us awake until much later. But when we went down for Sunday morning breakfast at 9.15 we were told it had finished at 9a.m....
