"Basically, I liked the hotrl location. It allowed access to different areas in the city. The main thing that concerned me was the congregation of a group of men at night. I was skeptical going out after a certain time. I did not feel threatened but a little uneasy to go to my car."

"Room was absolutely spotless & new. Front desk service was great. TV wasn’t working and we called & someone came and set it up immediately. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our stay & breakfast. An elderly guest roaming the halls with her small dog at breakfast talking to her cellphone in her pocket on speaker made for interesting entertainment. All other guests were smiley and kind. "

"Friendly staff. Bed was comfortable. Shower handle was broken, notified staff when we checked out. They appreciated the notification. "

"The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was there for my sick dad and all staff was very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Only issue was hot water temp in the shower. Didn’t have time to worry about that and it did get somewhat warm. I do recommend this hotel"

"Lovely period home in heart of historical district. Host was most accommodating! He answered all our questions, and provided us with everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. The view of the Pamlico River from the porch was incredible! We look forward to staying at the Sterling House when we return to Washington."

"We enjoyed this cottage so much! It was clean, had just the right amount of space, and had a huge backyard for our dog to play in. The owner was also very helpful and answered any questions we had. If you ever need a place to stay in Washington, or are going to an ECU game and don’t mind the short drive, this is the place to stay!! "
