Spending an entire weekend in Brainard Lake Recreational Area would be easy! There are many picnic areas and a plethora of hiking trails, two of which lead to lakes higher up the mountainside. You can fish and canoe on the lakes. Nearby Ward, Colorado, offers overnight accommodations, restaurants and bars - if you are looking for night life! Camping facilities abound in the area. "A quick drive to Eldora Ski resort. Loved the property as it was spacious enough for the two of us. Loved the sauna as well. Would be fun to visit in the summer too!"
