Spending an entire weekend in Brainard Lake Recreational Area would be easy! There are many picnic areas and a plethora of hiking trails, two of which lead to lakes higher up the mountainside. You can fish and canoe on the lakes. Nearby Ward, Colorado, offers overnight accommodations, restaurants and bars - if you are looking for night life! Camping facilities abound in the area. Beds were extremely comfortable (even the pull out couch was very comfortable). It sleeps 6, but I would say this place is solid for about 4-5 people. Would stay here again for sure!"
