The beach is not suitable for swimming due to heavy surf and a strong side current but Talpe beach a 1.5k walk or tuk-tuk away has a safe beach behind a reef. "

"This property is a stunning gem away from the heat and bustle of Galle Fort. A beautiful pool and a sea breeze is definite respite during the day A 5 minute tuk tuk ride will take you to the Fort. The rooms are large. The beds very comfy. The shower was perfect. All decorated simply and in keeping with the building 150 year age. Then there is Mohan who appears like magic when you need something. He is kind and friendly, the perfect host..if he offers to make you a traditional lunch or dinner say YES. Fresh fish and prawn curry he prepared was better than any restaurant in Galle. Get some beers or wine and stay in for the night. I am happy i made the move from staying in the Fort to stay here.
