Located in the heart of resort/cabin community known as Whipholt Beach Rd. Historically, Whipholt was a fishing village on the south shore of Leech Lake back in the model T days when HWY 200 ran closer to the lake. Old HWY 200 is now called Whipholt Beach Rd. A central location to enjoy the up north communities of Longville, Walker, and Hackensack. Whipholt is a unique community of buildings that remind us of yester year when each building used to host a vital contributing service to area locals and guests. Whipholt Beach Rd offers a sprawling sandy public beach and boat launch a 5 min walk from Bears Den cabin. Bringing your boat? There are a couple of resorts nearby that offer harbor slips for rent to dock your boat. Have a larger group? We have several properties for rent on the street. Escape to this quant, cozy cabin in Whipholt for a relaxing getaway. This 2-bedroom retreat features a variety of wood finishes, each bdrm has 2 twin beds, a cozy living room with a sofa bed, a bathroom with shower and bathroom amenities like hair dryer. Guests can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and modern comforts like heating and AC. Make your holiday one for the books with a stay at our place.
Fish Leech Lake, cruise the public ATV/Snomobile trails nearby in the Chippewa National Forest, or simply relax at the cabin and enjoy your time with loved ones and friends. Enjoy boat cruises to several resort restaurants on the South end of Leech. If you have a boat, visit with your host about parking or boat mooring. The south end of Leech can see large waves during storms. Again, we encourage guests to take their boat out of lake each day or guests can rent harbor slips nearby at one of the resorts in Whipholt bay.
We are proud to support the Eric F. Netter Fund, 10% net proceeds from our guest stays are donated to the foundation which provides scholarships every year to young men and women enrolled in trade schools throughout Minnesota.
