"As a foreign solo traveller, the Japanese-style single rooms were more than enough, and not that much more expensive than the hostel shared room. The room was clean and had a good view of Mt Rishiri. The walls were thin, so I could hear the people in the room next to mine."

"good hotel with night snack ramen, onsen, free ice cream, free yugart :-) of course you paid upfront for all these fancy things! very good experience staying there. just be aware that even though there are many restaurants around there, they're all small mom and pop type, atat night they're all full if you get out late (7pm is late)!!"

"I traveled from Las Vegas to Tokyo for a wedding. Then I flew up to Hokkaido and finally to Wakkanai. When I arrived at the hotel the attendant called someone to give me a ride to the konbini to gather supplies. She also scheduled a taxi for me the next morning. We exchanged gifts and I told her I’d be back with loved ones. If you are an adventurer this is a great place to put on your list. I only wish I could’ve tried the food in the restaurant."
