"We stayed for 3 nights. Condo perfectly located to walk into town for shopping and dinning. We'd stay again. The condo was clean, comfotable, and had great views of the Gulf. Everything we needed for basic nessities was provided."
Waterfront stilt cottage on the open Gulf of Mexico will make you feel like you're on a houseboat!
10/10 Excellent
"Really enjoyed the cottage! Great natural light from windows with living room and bedroom water views. Really is perfect for a couple and the trundle bed (not used) would add the kids option if desired with playground within view of balcony. Next time I’ll use kayaks provided. Bed was comfortable and tv had all you could ever need. AC’s were perfect with cool air all night, especially if you pick side where air flows right on to the bed. Very nicely stocked! Dollar General is only real “grocery” store so hit that on the way in for snacks, water, etc. Steamers seafood literally 2 blocks straight down from cottage for fresh seafood options. It’s cool to have the stilt cottage where everyone else is Condo’s (share walls). Really enjoyed the relaxing visit and management is very responsive and helpful!"
"The cottage was well-kept. However, we were unable to get an internet connection in order to use the TV. We called our host, Connie, and she worked to get our connection. When she was unable to do so, she was able to assign us to another cottage. That cottage was well-kept - Paddlers Cottage. The grounds were well kept. We did not use the pool or the grill. But everything was very nice. If in the area, I would recommend the location!"
"We never got to see this property thanks to VACASA's terrible customer service. 45 minutes on hold while trying to locate the property. 35 minutes of texting back and forth until they finally provided the owners contact info. She was very nice and apologetic. But we were over it and tired and booked a hotel with EXPEDIA and got a good night's sleep. "
Riverfront bunkhouse with private W/D, grill, & canoe
6/10 Okay
"We had a nice stay overall and tried to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenic surroundings. The canoe experience was definitely a highlight—we really enjoyed paddling down the river and taking in the peaceful nature around us.
That said, there were a few things that could be improved. The directions provided through Expedia were inaccurate, and Google Maps led us to the wrong place entirely, which made getting there quite frustrating. The photos online seem to be from when the house was newly built; in reality, much of the property felt quite old and worn down.
Inside, there were barely any utensils—just a few plastic knives and plates—which made it hard to prepare or enjoy meals properly. We also found something that looked like a moth larvae on one of the beds when we arrived. While it didn’t bother me personally and I simply took it outside, I understand it might concern others (though it’s not entirely surprising given the house is in the middle of the woods).
Additionally, the front door didn’t seal properly and was difficult to close, which was a bit of a pain—especially at night or anytime we were leaving the house.
With a few updates and better communication, this could be a much more enjoyable experience for future guests."
