Bussaco Palace Hotel

Bussaco Palace Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We were privileged to stay in this palace. When driving up to the building you get a feeling for the grandure, but on entering the reception it's jaw droppingly impressive. The staff were very helpful and happy to share their knowledge of the history of the building. The breakfast was excellent. The woodland grounds are beautiful, we spent a day exploring with a picnic (you have to be fit, it's very steep in places) The room was clean and functional but not at all luxurious. Come to this property for the amazing architecture and beauty of the forest, not for the room."

"Staff and breakfast, excellent, however no A/C or working safety box in a room and jacuzzi is not working. I want to highlight the Belle Epoque environment of the place."

CASA DA ESTALAGEM - COMFORT AND TRANQUILITY

10/10 Excellent
"Lovely space with shared access to a big pool, lounge area, pool table and beautiful yard. Parking was easy and the host was lovely. We also had a load of laundry done for 5. We loved having our morning coffee in the courtyard."

Hotel Dighton

Hotel Dighton

8/10 Good
"Room was OK, A/C worked good which was nice. Parking in basement was a challenge, not for bigger cars for sure and you need to be able to navigate your vehicle carefully, not much room to get around. Breakfast was OK, a missed a bit of more healthy options. Friendly and helpful staff most of the time even with a few language challenges, receptionists spoke good English though."

Tiny Escape

Tiny Escape

10/10 Excellent
"Tiny escape is a perfect stay for those interested in exploring the lesser traveled regions of Portugal while also experiencing the comfort and amenities of staying in your own home. The location of tiny escape allows for a variety of adventures, whether you stay near the property or venture out to one of the many incredible destinations near tiny escape. Our first day, we hiked one of the many trails that are accessible right on the property. These hikes can be as short or long as you make them, and you can find lookout points that provide a panoramic view of the mountains and villages around the property. Our next day, we drove the easy 1 hour drive to the Douro valley to enjoy wine tastings at some of the many wineries available. For our next day trip, we explored Serra Da Estrela, Portugal’s highest mountain range. It was a two hour drive from tiny escape with incredible views along the way, making it well worth the drive. Beyond the many activities that the region has to offer, the hosts of tiny escape make sure that every guest has everything they need, and have included many thoughtful touches in each tiny home. When entering your home expect to be greeted with a basket of local wine and fruit, including oranges for fresh squeezed orange juice in the mornings. Our tiny home also had incredible views overlooking the valley, which we were able to take in each morning while enjoying a cup of espresso. Highly recommend this property for a unique and experiential stay!"
