#LifeAtExpedia #Texas #CaddoLake This is one of the places in east Texas that not many Texans know of. This was my third visit to this place and I was still amazed with the beauty I could see in a place like Texas. It's just 4 hours drive from Austin and 2.5 hours drive from Dallas towards East. What makes this place special is cypress trees in the lake and their beautiful reflections. You get a different flavor in each season - greens all around in spring and summer, different colors in fall and a brown cover in winters. Also, you would be in for a treat if you are a bird lover. Get up early in the morning and you could hear several birds chirping. Tips: 1. Avoid visiting this place in summer as it's still Texas and it gets very hot and humid during that time. 2. Instead of booking a hotel in Karnack town, get a vacation rental (go Vrbo) in "Uncertain" -- yes, that's the name of the place. Most vacation rentals have a minimum of two night stays so plan the trip accordingly.

It’s a beautiful home. Very clean and comfortable. Only downside was the Salvinia covering the water, that killed the view. No fault of anyone. Just nature. I would still go back!

The host was welcoming. We enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness. It was equipped with everything necessary. The beds need new mattresses though. We would like to return to the area in summer and fall to experience the different colors. Thank you.

We loved the house, especially the back yard. The back had great space for kids to play and we loved the bird watching in the morning. There is a bit of wear and tear on the outdoor furniture since the photos were taken, but that was not a problem for us.
