"We count ourselves very lucky to have found such a wonderful location for our 10 day Tuscan stay. It was the perfect jumping off place to explore hill towns both near and far. Close enough to Siena for dinner but also close to very excellent restaurants across the hills. And a really comfortable spot to just put your feet up and relax, if you’d prefer. Enzo, his wife, and son have created the perfect farmhouse stay. We had the 3-bedroom apartment upstairs which was perfect for our group of six. We got a tour of the downstairs apartment for four which was equally beautiful and well appointed. We were able to do laundry and even cooked one night at home in the well-equipped kitchen. The beds are comfortable and feel larger than you often get in Europe. We had a few bright sunny days and enjoyed aperativo on the patio with a stellar view. Great communication with the owner who was very helpful and gracious. I will dream of being able to return to this lovely spot."

"We had the most amazing time at Il Poggio! The property is well maintained, Roberta and Marina were incredible, and the location could not be beat. We took day trips (by car) to Siena, Arezzo, Florence, Orvieto, and Montalcino, all of which were easily and quickly accessible. Each of our five guests (two couples, one single!) had their own floor and bathroom. We cooked in the well-stocked kitchen, drank wine while watching the sunrise on the patio, and were transported to the past walking through the vineyards to San Gusmè. I cannot recommend this property enough, and I hope to be back one day!"

"This is a beautiful and comfortable Villa that I would enthusiastically recommend if you're looking for an authentic yet luxurious Tuscan experience. The description and photos on the VRBO website are all accurate, although I would mention that the photos don't do justice to the beauty of the Villa and its grounds. The Villa building is old but extremely well restored and maintained. The fixtures and fittings are all high-end. Everything was in perfect working order while we were there. The grounds and landscaping are stunning. If you stay here, be sure not to over-schedule your activities so you can spend a delightfully peaceful afternoon or two doing nothing more taxing than listening to the breeze and birds and noticing the patterns of sunlight and shadow as the day progresses. It is truly magical. When we arrived, the Villa was immaculately clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The furniture and beds are quite comfortable. The Villa is quite remote. The nearest town, about 20 minutes away, has some stores and restaurants. The town is near highways so you can reach places like Siena and Montepulciano without much trouble. The Villa is located near the top of a valley, so from the upstairs windows you can see some stunning Tuscan sunrises and sunsets. We had a wonderful time here. Highly recommended."
