The typical Istrian hilltop town of Visnjan is very close by. Small stores, cafés and restaurants enliven the charming town and if you follow the winding alleyways through the ancient walls, you can sense its eventful history. The region around Visnjan is famous for its excellent local produce and authentic gastronomy, which is offered in many restaurants, rural agritourisms and rustic cellars. There is even a famous observatory among the town's attractions. The surrounding area also has numerous hiking and cycling routes. One of the most beautiful is the 'Parenzana', a historic railroad line that runs over old viaducts and through tunnels, making a ride on the little tourist train a real experience! The old Roman town of Porec, just 10 km away, provides more excitement. Not only does it offer every conceivable leisure activity, fantastic beaches, excellent restaurants, cafés and good nightlife, but also cultural events and remarkable UNESCO World Heritage sites.
