As much as I dreaded driving through the sloppy roads of Laos under the rain, there's no denying the fact that they offered some pretty epic scenes--like this one, on the way to Viangxay--specially during those golden moments before the Sun finished its daily trip.

As we were trying to make our way onto Viangxay, we were caught by the night on a small village, just 25km away from the city.

While we were recharging fuel for the last stretch and debating whether we should continue or not, a group of locals invited us to eat and drink with them and basically forced us to spend the night in their house, which ended up being one of my most memorable days in Laos.
