"Gym wasn’t working and the lady who runs the breakfast diner was kind of rude. We asked to be not knowing it was right before closing time. She said she would sit us but did so very disgruntled making sure we knew of our mistaken timing. Although it was packaged with a “God bless you” statement, it was combined with frustration and therefore even more disrespectful. We happily went somewhere else as to not disturb her or the staff any more than we had been made to feel we were. Other than this specific encounter, the location was outstanding, incredibly beautiful small town, clean and well maintained room and facility. Lovely stay."

"The hotel is very convenient to the highway. We stayed one night and it fit our need perfectly. Not a lot of room amenities but for one night it didn’t matter. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The only thing that was a tiny bit bothersome was the wide gap at the bottom of the entry door. It let in a lot of light all night but actually served as a night light. B’fast was the usual quick bagel, muffin, waffle iron, etc. It served the purpose before we hit the road. I would stay again."

"If you are looking to stay in an older Historic hotel with a great view give this one a try. The rooms are nicely finished and have as many modern amenities as one would expect. Your own private balcony is a real plus with views of the Ohio river and down town Madison. Walking to either is easy from this location as well if you so desire. The lobby is a neat tidy greeting place with it's own coy pond. Pictures of the original hotel in it's several iterations adorn the walls. One dating back to 1870! We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the experience."
