"The hotel entrance, bar and restaurant areas are very modern and clean. Our room was obviously freshly cleaned as the bathroom floor was still wet. The decor is tired and could do with a bit of modernisation especially in the bathroom and a replacement shower is required, it was hard to switch on. The food in the restaurant was pretty average we had nice starters but the mains, burger and pizza, were unfortunately disappointing. Overall we enjoyed our stay but will not be returning."

"Ended up not staying at St Andrews guest house. Entrance code to property never came. Even though I spoke to a man called Andrew, the night before. He told me I would receive the code the next morning. Phoned three numbers on to get an entrance code as there is no one, on site. Eventually managed to get an answer on the phone to be told, we were not booked in, that it was expedia's fault, booking was not confirmed. They then said, that they would find us accommodation. At no extra cost. We stayed at The Braidmead, Irvine. Which is a lovely and welcoming place. Very distressing, having travelled for 4 hours and unable to speak to anyone. "

"Carpet has never been cleaned. Shower drainage blocked. The door key snapped when I tried to unlock. They wanted me to pay £90 for the key. The room smelled bad. It’s a guest house for people with no standards "

"I was sent an email by someone named Edith saying she was the host and to reach out if there were problems We arrived and the thermostat was not working When I called I received a call center and not Edith I had to go and buy batteries myself and repair it myself It was late and cold I tried twice to get the problem fixed I only heard from "Edith" the next morning who informed me that she only works 8-4 Make sure your problems are 8-4 Now with that said The apartment was well kept and centrally located for us to walk about our hometown "
