We arrived in Venice early on our first day, and our wonderful host kindly let us check into the apartment ahead of schedule at no extra cost. This was a huge bonus, as it meant we could drop our luggage off straight away and make the most of our first day exploring the city. The apartment is also just a short walk from the Grand Canal water bus stop, making it very convenient to reach.
As we only had a limited time in Venice, we knew we'd be spending most of our days out exploring, so we felt the extra expense of a hotel would have been unnecessary. The apartment provided an excellent base for our stay, with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Its location was ideal, with St Mark's Square around a 10-minute walk away, the Rialto Bridge just 5 minutes away, and a supermarket only 3–4 minutes from the apartment.
The apartment itself was spotlessly clean and spacious for the two of us.
One thing to be aware of (though not necessarily a negative) is that the bedroom window appears to have been adapted for the air conditioning unit, so outside noise carries into the room quite easily. We could hear people talking, wheeling suitcases and the early morning street cleaning. It wasn't an issue for us as we sleep with earplugs, but lighter sleepers may wish to bear it in mind.
Overall, we had a great stay and would happily recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable and centrally located base for exploring Venice.
