RENOVATION WORKS IN PROGRESS: NOT RENTABLE !!!!!!

PLEASE NOTE: our tarif is "all included" for 2 persons (it includes final cleaning and homelinen) - for extra guests, we require 40 € / per guest / night
Our apartment is set in an interesting gothic Palazzo from the 14th century, with lovely facades and a monumental hall. On the gound floor (no "acqua alta = high tide"), accurately renovated with Venitian materials and details, to make the guests live a true Venetian experience. It overlooks a canal. (watch the boats pass below your windows). It features: entrance, living / dining, kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom with shower. Very well located: 5 'walk from the Arsenale vaporetto stop- 10' from St. Mark along the lovely Riva degli Schiavoni, few steps from the Biennale premises. The area is not too touristy- you will not find mask shops everywhere- the neighborhood is still inhabited by Venetians.

Desaster!!!

We had a lot of trouble: The host did not show up, we had insofar no apartment to stay in, it was afternoon ... We hat to use our precious holiday-time to find a new hote, which is not easy in Venice during the Biennale.We hat Furche time to spend calling the Agency and to find for the Second period of our stay a new Apartment, which was more expensive than the one we had booked first. A Desaster!!!l

Vorsicht Betrug! Vermieter nicht errreichbar - Unterkunft war nicht verfügbar. Trotz rechtzeitiger Buchung, doppelt erhaltener Buchungsbestätigung und Anzahlungs- und Restzahlungsanfragen (jeweils mit Bestätigung, dass unsere Zahlung erhalten wurde) wurde vom Vermieter weder eine konkrete Adresse mitgeteilt, noch war er über E-Mail, SMS, WhatsApp, die Nachrichtenseite auf dem Buchungsportal oder Telefon für die Übergabe der Wohnung erreichbar. Erst durch einen Anruf bei der Hotline des Buchungsportals kam der Kontakt zum Vermieter zustande, der behauptete, die Buchung nicht erhalten zu haben und mitteilte, die Wohnung sei schon seit Langem anderweitig vermietet. Zwar wurde uns der Betrag erstattet, aber wir standen nun ohne Unterkunft zur ausgebuchten Biennale-Woche in der Hochsaison in Venedig. Später habe ich die Unterkunft wieder als frei verfügbar auf einem anderen Portal gefunden.

Ferienwohnung nicht verfügbar

Es war wie in einem schlechten Film: Das Haus in zentraler Lage in Venedig war mit einem Fassadengerüst, welches erkennbar schon längere Zeit dort steht, eingerüstet. Der Vermieter konnte sich zuerst nicht erinnern dass ich das Geld für die Miete vorab schon überwiesen hatte. Nach einiger Zeit der wiederholten Anrufe von meiner Seite aus dann noch die Bestätigung des Zahlungseinganges. Es änderte aber nichts am Status dass die Wohnung durch die stockende Sanierung unbewohnbar ist. Wir hatten Glück und fanden in einem nahen Hotel ++++ Unterkunft für 4 Tage. Das Geld wurde nur zum Teil zurücküberwiesen. Fewo-direkt.de hat seine Vermittlungsprovision einbehalten.

Disastrous

I booked to stay in this property for 5 nights. My payments all went through and the reservation was confirmed, however the host did not respond to any of my messages or send instructions on how to check in. I was given two phone numbers to try and reach the host directly. Both of these numbers had a busy signal and another number provided was out of service. I took it upon myself to book myself a hotel (at greater cost due to it being last-minute) just so that I would not be in the difficult position of arriving in Venice with nowhere to stay. At check-in time the host still hadn't contacted me and was unreachable by phone/messaging on the platform. VRBO agent managed to reach the host, who stated that the apartment was under renovation and not available for booking (though my booking and payments had gone through, and I had received a confirmation).

A terrible miscommunication

When we arrived in Venice we discovered that VRBO had approved our booking and taken our money without the hosts' consent. In fact when we called the host we discovered that the house was being renovated and we absolutely could not be accommodated. We were in Venice for a short trip to see the biennale and film fest and most accommodations were completely booked.
