The location was excellent, as it was close to the bus and train stations, so you didn't need to depend on water taxies or water buses. The main drawback was two high levels of steps -- difficult with suitcases. The staff was friendly.

The main issue we had was that when we arrived we found there were no rooms at this property, but at another property nearby. Unfortunately, this was quite a hassle hauling our luggage in a city with walking and boats only. If we could have received notification in advance of any problems with the property that would have been very helpful. But, the second property (Hotel dela Fava) was very old and quaint, with an excellent view of Venice buildings and directly adjacent to a canal. A very nice place to stay.

No lift to ease moving luggage up and down the hotel. The staff she is a bit rude during check-in. Asked her to show where the washroom is, she tried to explained but I did not understand. She finally left her office and showed me with a very bad attitude. The staff that took over the next day (African decant). She is nice and friendly.

The staff was helpful and allowed us to check in early. The best thing about the hostel was the location as it was right in the heart of Venice. It is a beautiful city and very walkable.

The Adua was very close to the train station and super convenient to go anywhere in Venice. It’s just a bit old and run down but big queen bed and clean. Not many places to put down your toiletries or hang towels. Real simple and great for a few nights in the city.

Everything was Ok but the nights there were way too hot. No air conditioning in the whole building. I would have been great to - at least - have a fan in the room. Have that in mind if you are staying here. Opening the windows is not an option as there are a lot of mosquitos. For the rest, the location is perfect for tourism.

Hmmmm, where to start....... Service: Best part of the stay. The front desk man was very nice and approachable. Location: Super close the the train station (5min) and bus station (30 min). Awesome location in general. Comfort: We got a room with a private bathroom. Bed was dated, but comfortable. Cleanliness: Like others have mentioned, there were some squashed mosquitoes on the walls. There is some mold on varies places.The furniture, curtains, etc look like originals. Overall: This place is a 2 star hotel. Curb your expectations as such. If the plan is to venture out during the day and only come back to sleep you are golden. If you want to spend any time in your room, spend the extra 100 bucks or so to spend a night at a nicer hotel.

4 stars is what this place deserved. It’s an 2 star hotel and has a really nice location to dine at a non touristic restaurant(and thus more authentic food). The area cannaregio is the best for these type of places and has amazing seafood. Hotel itself is okay, we had triple room with shared bathroom. Room was alright, a bit on the small side but I can’t imagine bigger rooms in Venice. We got towels(which I didn’t expect) and keys to the room and building. Everything was explained nice by a really staff member. She was really sweet and answered all our questions. Shared bathroom was okay honestly I don’t prefer it but we and 1 other room were there when we was in Venice so we had no waiting lines. Location is perfect for the food(as mentioned), walking (Venice is really walkable) and if you want to take the boat it’s 5min walk. It’s everything you expect from a 2 star hotel, rooms is what you expect from older building and staff was really sweet! I Recommend it!

My stay at this place was honestly one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had. The room was incredibly run-down and felt like the bathroom had not been cleaned properly in years. I spent the entire time shivering because there was absolutely NO HOT WARER available for a shower. To make matters worse, they were stingy with the basic essentials like soap and toilet paper, leaving me constantly asking for more. While the area was convenient, it definitely did not make up for the lack of comfort and cleanliness.

Upon arrival I was told I actually was not staying at Adua, but instead at a different one a 27 minute walk away. I had originally booked this hotel due to the location to the train station being close. We got there and the toilet was broken and had no toilet seat, I called the manager and he said all he could do was provide free breakfast in the morning. Come the morning and there was no staff or breakfast. We were given dirty sheets and told to use the main bathroom in the dining room. Would not recommend unless you are staying for only the night.

This hotel kept our money and still hasn’t refunded us. We booked through Expedia and when we called to let them know that we were there to stay with them they said they didn’t have room for us , we’re trying to get our money back. They are not responding to us or to Expedia’s emails. All we want was a refund, terrible terrible customer service do not stay at this Hotel

Shower doors broken. No water in Shower just a drip. Bugs in room. Staff were helpful on arrival helped carry up bags, 37 stairs (very steep ). Vacated in morning circa 7.30 no one around. So we both middle 60,s had to struggle down 37 steps

We checked in and checked for bedbugs. Didn't see any at the time. Went out for supper and the people in the room next door came out showing us bedbugs that they found in their room. We weren't able to get in contact with the owners. After seeing this, we left and booked another hotel room for a lot more, at 11:00 pm, and took us 40 minutes to walk. I don't recommend this to anyone.
