2 week summer family break

Fantastic property in gorgeous countryside and plenty to do within an hours drive maximum. Hosted very well by Joan and John. Accommodation clean and full of rustic charm, swimming pool a blessing that everyone enjoyed. Would definitely return

Super holiday, idylic location, great hosts.

We had a lovely family break in Venes, the hosts Joan and John couldn't have been more welcoming and treated us to a super evening of twilight drinks and a great spread on the terrace. We loved the surrounding countryside which was incredibly peaceful. Albi city was very picturesque and cultural with olympic legacy events occurring and some good shopping for the teens. Plenty of opportunity for nature lovers too with some great walks and superb road cycling from the doorstep. Lautrec, a small walled medieval town close by, is a gem with excellent restaurants and a lovely market. The property is charming with a beautiful heated pool, shaded outside eating area with fig and olive trees. Some of the downstairs decor is a bit tired but dont let that put you off because you'll be outside most of time. We'd certainly consider a return visit. The

Idyllic holiday

Shabby chic, white washed floorboards, exposed beams, flagstone floors, beautifully maintained swimming pool, picture perfect views, scent of lavender, vast gardens, every mod-con, comfortable beds, thick sheets and towels and when the children finally stopped jumping into the swimming pool total, ear-ringing silence! Our four children didn't want to go out and visit the area as they loved the house and pool too much! But when we did there is plenty to see. Local shop and café-bar/restaurant in walking distance. Amazing boulangerie 10 minutes drive away in Lautrec. Fantastic local market in Realmont 10 minutes in the car. The local mountain zoo was the best day out for the children. Good value, freshly made pizzas 10 minutes walk across the fields and lovely local restaurant 20 minutes walk across the fields. And a very warm welcome from the owners. Highly recommended.

Vacances au paradis

Très belle maison ancienne (et saine) en pierres qui garde la fraîcheur lors des fortes chaleurs. Maison bien équipée. Bonne literie. Au calme. Propriétaires très accueillants et très attentifs au bien-être de leurs hôtes. Nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances dans cette belle région du Tarn.

Havre de paix au cœur du Tarn

La Bailesse est une maison au charme ancien qui se trouve au milieu d’un paysage pittoresque fait de collines et de champs, comme dans un tableau de Monet. La localisation est parfaite pour sillonner et découvrir le Tarn. Si vous aimez visiter, de nombreux villages et sites historiques sont magnifiques (Castres, Albi, Cordes sur Ciel, Castelnau de Montmiral, Puycelsi…). Notre coup de cœur est le village de Lautrec, situé à 6km, et qui est un beau voyage dans le temps ! Au passage, la boulangerie « le Pancossier » est à visiter pour tous les amateurs de bon pain ! La maison est vaste, bien équipée et très confortable. La piscine est incroyable et le calme est absolu. Et que dire des hôtes, Joan et John si ce n’est leur incroyable accueil, leur disponibilité efficace en cas de besoin, leur discrétion respectueuse et leur gentillesse ! Leur rencontre est probablement notre meilleur souvenir de vacances.

Séjour parfait

Joan et John sont des hôtes attentifs et très discrets. Leur maison et l’environnement sont à leur image : accueillants, paisibles, très agréables. Les différents espaces sont bien pensés. La piscine chauffée nous a permis d’en profiter tous les jours ce qui a réjoui les enfants. La location est tout à fait conforme à l’annonce. Cadre idéal pour des vacances en famille dans une région magnifique où tous les commerçants sont aussi très accueillants.

Un havre de paix dans le Tarn...

Une belle propriété, très au calme...idéal pour se ressourcer... Les enfants se sont bien amusés dans la piscine et les environs sont propices à de belles promenades... Le soir, une belle vue sur le coucher du soleil... Nous avons été bien accueillis par les propriétaires... Mille mercis... la confiture est très bonne 😁

Séjour agréable dans la campagne

Maison agréable, avec une très jolie vue. La maison était fraîche malgré les fortes chaleurs, nous avons apprécié les ventilateurs présents dans les chambres. La piscine est très agréable.

Relaxing and peaceful location with fabulous views and sunsets

Just returned from a really great holiday at this lovely Gite. This was such a peaceful and restful location. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful, the house was very comfortable with everything you needed. The living room was spacious with comfortable sofas to relax on in the evening. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and a BBQ was also provided. The outside seating area is great with a beautiful view across the fields and the most amazing sunsets night after night. There is plenty to do in this area - walking, cycling - including a very safe path for cycling with children which is flat and goes for miles. Lots of beautiful towns and villages with their regular markets and fabulous fresh produce to explore. A very large intermarche is just a couple of miles away and the local shop which you can walk to has fresh bread and croissants plus any other essentials you may need. A really great holiday location - the Tarn is a beautiful area.

Tarn glory

We had a wonderful stay in Joan and John's gite in rural Tarn. It really was a get away from it all week in the middle of fields and rolling countryside, even if the weather wasn't always playing ball !! Joan was a great host and was there to answer any queries we had. Very relaxing and just what we needed. Martin & Sue Wilkinson

Charming Gite in beautiful Tarn

We had a wonderful holiday, the Gite is well equipped, a real home from home, set in beautiful countryside and well situated to explore the surrounding area. We visited Albi and Lautrec, and also did a walk around Hautpoul. The village shop is an easy 10 minutes walk away, fresh bread and croissants for breakfast are a must. Joan is a wonderful host, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.
