"Place is very walkable to all areas . I got the private room with bathroom and is huge and in perfect condition. I definitely recommend if you looking for a budget nice place to stay."
"Bad experience.... check out the photo ... for example... do you see curtains ? Nope .... all the light coming in the room at all hours ... that is just one of 20 things ... the cat eating the breakfast on the kitchen counter when the girl preparing the food went outside ... too many people for the bathroom .... etc etc etc ... "
"Gotta say I was surprised and delighted! This place is like an artists' hotel in the middle of a completely artistic community where all the houses are surfaces for actual art. Made myself right at home and staff to a person were friendly, helpful, funny and considerate."

Our neighborhood was funky and nice. But, just like a lot of the City, it's like shabby chic, in various stages of decay and rejuvenation. Lots of street art, aka graffiti. Great for photos. Not great for anyone with knee or mobility problems!

Beautiful place. Very unique. Lots of wonderful street art to admire. A great atmosphere to the city and people were so friendly. Like any city in the world you need to be wary of pickpockets but overall I felt very safe walking around

Valparaiso is beautiful, vibrant, artsy, scenic. It feels very safe and friendly. Check the locations of the ascensors if you want to save some time and energy going up hills.

Valparaiso felt quite run down with loads ofgraffitis everywhere and a bit dirty at most parts. Inspite of all this it is unique andhas a charm to it,it offerssome amazing views of the city and the port from the top of the hills. It is worth a visit.

Valparaiso and Viña Del Mar are very similar 2 days 3 nights in each location is about right. Valparaiso is an older town and very quaint. Viña Del Mar is newer and more modern.

We loved Valparaiso! It was a colorful, energetic city. However, 3 minutes before we got to the bus station to return to Santiago, my daypack was pickpocketed. The thief grinned at me as he darted away. So, keep your daypack in front of you!

From the hotel its best to use Uber to get around. We enjoyed a day in Valparaiso but also spent time in Vina del Mar.
"This is a gorgeous property in the Cerro Alegre, walkable to everything. The staff was professional and helpful - and spoke English, which was much appreciated as we arrived after traveling for 24 hours! The breakfast was terrific, the room large and well-appointed. Highly recommend!"
"Very charming hotel with a historic feel to it and an excellent location in Cerro Alegre right by the Victoria funicular on a pedestrian only strip (car drop off 2 minutes walk on Montt and Dimalow). The area can get noisy on Saturday night but is safe and the views from the hotel are breathtaking and worth the trip. The room was spacious, beautiful and clean, the bed very comfortable. The bathroom equipment and towels showed their age but everything was clean and functional (wait a minute or so after cold nights for the hot water to flow). Breakfast was excellent, the staff caring and attentive; gave the hotel a cozy and homey feel. Very memorable stay in the best way possible, highly recommended. "
"Very nice although brief stay. We were able to check in early and were allowed to stay a little later too. Front desk was very nice and helpful. Room was spacious and clean with great views of ocean and hilly town. We used UBER a lot and that worked out great. Area around hotel loaded with restaurants and shops that were well within walking distance."
