La Roca - Clifton/Valley Mills/Meridian

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. La Roca is for those who want to get away to a rural setting and enjoy nature. We are located just 5 miles from Clifton, Texas and 20 minutes to Lake Whitney. We are far enough out to enjoy the country but still close to civilization.

The space
The beautiful scenery includes rock formations and hiking trails as well a variety of birds and other critters, such as deer and small animals. Explore your surroundings as you hike the trails and imagine life long ago exploring the rock caves and spaces. La Roca, "the ROCK," is great for the outdoor enthusiast.

Our home is a three bedroom, two bath. with a large living area and 7 total beds. We have two covered porch areas and plenty of outdoor seating. The home was built in 1984 and sits on 13 acres. There have been a few upgrades since the home was built but not a total restoration. Although the home is somewhat outdated, it is very comfortable and clean. We think you will enjoy it as much as the owners do.

If you are coming from Clifton, the last 3 miles of the road is gravel and some uphill. Trucks or SUV's are the preferential mode of transportation to and from this property.

When you are not hanging out at La Roca, we suggest dining and shopping at local communities such as Valley Mills, Meridian & Clifton. Please message us and request our D&L Guide for Bosque County.

Clifton - You will love Clifton. We like going to the historic Cliftex. It is the only remaining of three theaters that were founded by D.C. Caraway in the early 1900s. It has been in business since 1916. And just around the corner is Olaf’s Restaurant and Bar. A Full-Service venue with a 3,000 square foot courtyard featuring live music Thursday through Saturday nights. Other places of interest are The Mill, Red Caboose Winery, Bosque County Emporium and The Blossom Shop.

Valley Mills - Valley Mills Vineyards is well worth the drive into town. You also have great little boutiques and shops like The Painted Bunting, BeBe's Back Porch, The Treasure Chest and more. Valley Mills Mantels is also a great place to visit. It is a sawmill and the mantles and other wood products displayed are incredible.

Meridian - Meridian is the Bosque County seat and the historic courthouse is worth a stop and visit. There is also Meridian State Park. The park itself is beautiful and the small lake is stocked with trout in the winter.

We are just 10 minutes to the nearest grocery store, Brookshires in Clifton.

We have two blow up mattresses if needed.
