"Newly refurbished clean comfortable hotel - no frills but has all essentials. Service is friendly and hotel has lots of eco friendly initiatives which was great to see!"
"The hotel itself is fine and the staff are excellent. But to describe the hotel as "ski-in/ski-out" is wholly misleading. The exit/entrance involved a dangerous traverse across about 100m of sheet ice. The hotel itself recommended against using the route, instead suggesting using the free shuttle. That runs about every 90 minutes, so is basically useless. So don't stay here if you don't want to have to drive to the resort each day. Also, don't make the mistake of buying the full Paradiski...
"Les photos de réservations ne correspondent pas du tout à l’appartement !
La résidence a l’avantage d’être facile d’accès, avec les skis comme en voiture , comme pour les magasins, salle de sport, piscine…."
"Perfect apartment for a ski vacation in Val Thorens! The apartment is near plenty of restaurants and supermarkets, and it is in the center of town. In addition, the apartment is perfectly located for skiing and snowboarding!!"
"Super nice grandma managing the b&b helped by his family. Lovely and close to ski slopes by car (20 mins). Of course not a luxury location given the price, but very good price to quality ratio.
Call before to organize the checkin!"
"The beds were incredibly comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are a little tight, and the service can be a little slow in the lobby at busy times, but I would recommend the place without hesitation. It has a fantastic family atmosphere, too."
"Staff were amazing and food was good however the hotel is in pooor condition
Wall paper falling off the walls everywhere
Carpets are coming up in all the corridors "

VAL THORENS PLEASANT APARTMENT FOR 8/9 PEOPLE FULLY RENOVATED
10/10 Excellent
"Alles is aanwezig, prima locatie ( 150 meter van de piste) en schitterend uitzicht. Makkelijk en snel contact met de verhuurder, zou het appartement volgende keer zo weer huren!"
"Everything about this hotel is FANTASTIC. The staff is the friendliest, customer service is amazing and the hotel is absolutely gorgeous plus the rooms are really spacious. Honestly if it wasn’t because we were skiing I don’t think we would’ve left our room. It was late in the season and the hotel was still staffed. Definitely worth the price, amazing all over. "
"Perfect apartment for a ski vacation in Val Thorens! The apartment is near plenty of restaurants and supermarkets, and it is in the center of town. In addition, the apartment is perfectly located for skiing and snowboarding!!"
"Lovely hotel - literally ski in/ski out, with the slopes right outside the doorstep (and a helpful ski locker in the basement). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitiely recommended for an upmarket experience on the ski slopes!"
"Had an amazing stay at the altapura, read a few reviews a few days before we went and were worried, but it was great. Main complaints were about how hot the rooms were, which were understandable, but opening the window solved that. The other critique we read was about the restaurants and choice of food for half board. Breakfast was buffet and had a great selection. Dinner you get 65 euros contribution each evening towards food, which you can choose from the menu of the 3 different restaurants they have. European, Japanese and a cheese place. The food is all cooked fresh and to a great standard. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the hotel is in my opnion in the perfect location, ski in skin out, not far from several ski lifts, but not in thr centre of town so you don't get all the noise and footfall. Beds were really comfy, overall had a great experience and will be back next year! "
"Stayed at Hotel Marielle for three nights for a Spring snowboarding trip with my teenage son. Location is excellent right on the snow front with ski in ski put directly to the main lifts in Val Thorens. Reception, restaurant and bar staff were friendly professional, knowledgable and most importantly helpful and really made the stay a real pleasure. Room was spacious and clean and had a great view of the snow front. The terrace bar below does play music late afternoon till about 6 or 7 which adds to the buzz of the snow front location but if you want a quiet room better to ask for one at the back. Good selection of food options for breakfast and dinner (we did half board). Service gets a bit overwhelmed at peak pre ski school time 8.15 to 8.45am (our visit was in school holidays) with a few items running out on the buffet but they are quickly replaced if you ask. A second coffee machine might help for peak times! Decor is lovely - has a bit of a Parisian Boutique hotel feel to it. Huge spa with steam room and massive Sauna with a window onto the snow front. Although my son is a teenager now I thought the hotel was well set up for smaller children with lots staying, the ESF ski school straight out front and a decent games room. Val Thorens wa s great for Spring skiing lent to of snow relative to resorts further down the valley and the multitude of lifts meant no big queues. Would definitely stay here again. "
"Amazing hotel for a ski resort.
Room was beautifully fitted out with a stunning view of the resort and valley.
It is right at the top of the resort, but only 10 mins walk to the main group of bars, and there is a ski in and out option. Plus free transfer available around the resort.
Breakfast options were huge to start the day.
The bar was cosy and the terrace had a lovely view and sunshine.
Spa was impressive but often busy.
Only issues were that the room was often hot and no obvious way to cool it down other than opening a window/door. The boot room didn’t have locks on the doors or anywhere to store skis (which I assume is because everyone rents from their ski shop but that was expensive), and even with the transfers it is removed from the centre of the resort, so you will spend a lot of time walking up and down hill - but that was our choice.
Definitely would go again."
VAL THORENS APARTMENT FOR 10 PEOPLE FULLY RENOVATED
8/10 Good
"As 2 families (8 people in total) holidaying with teens this apartment was great. 2 bedrooms and bathroom facilities on each side of the living area meant each family had their own toilet/ shower. The sitting room/ kitchen were adequate to cater for everyone and there was plenty of seating at the table. The apartment has great storage for ski boots/ coats etc with loads of hooks and shelves. There are 3 ski lockers for the apartment a floor below (the apartment is 3 smaller apartments that has been converted into one larger apartment). The apartment itself was good and clean, beds comfy. Needs a bit of a freshen up of decor but the bathrooms are all newish and the showers are great with plenty of hot water. It is a long walk from the Reception area and several floors down in the lift BUT 1 floor down (2 minutes) to the ski locker and you are straight out onto the slopes. The apartment block itself is a bit shabby and the soundproofing between apartments is not great so you can hear other people move furniture etc and there seems to be a lot of rubbish thrown off balconies. There were a lot of groups of young adults staying but we were not disturbed much by them - no more so than we would have been by a family with small children. For the apartment and the skiing experience we would definitely consider returning."
