"We originally reserved our stay at the Old Pomegranate House in 2020, but had to cancel due to COVID. We rescheduled for April of 2024. As a result of years of planning, we had very high expectations for our vacation. The Old Pomegranate House did not disappoint! The villa is rustic and beautifully appointed. The attention to detail of everything in the villa is superb! Despina, the owner who happens to be an architect, did a fabulous job decorating the villa and made herself available for anything we needed during our stay. The view from the patio of mountains and sea is spectacular! The village of Mirsini was so unique, like stepping back in time. We are already planning our next Crete vacation that will include another stay at the Old Pomegranate House!"

"We enjoyed overlooking the Minoan palace remains, the valley and the vast Mediterranean from our exceedingly well appointed two room unit including kitchen. Picking up breakfast with freshly baked goods at the reception and eating on our veranda was a true delight. Perhaps we enjoyed it so much more because it was so far away."

"Very disappointing stay. This photos show a pleasant hotel with sea views. What we had was a view of the sea with a very ugly old half built building obscuring the view. The receptionist was surly, abrupt and generally unpleasant. No welcoming smile, I felt like we were a burden. The room was full of mosquitos. The bed was a bit like sleeping on a blanket covered rock and only 2 pillows. Breakfast the first morning... my husband is a diabetic and is not able to eat any of the cakes and pastries offered. there was only one piece of dry looking cheese left. This is not usually a problem as most hotels will be able to offer something else, such as eggs or omelette. So I asked the person at the desk (same guy as checked us in) if there was any cooked or other savoury food. the answer was ... 'no'. not even, I am sorry but we don't have anything else. So, having paid €11 each for breakfast (for 2 days) we had breakfast elsewhere. "

"This apartment exceeded our expectations. Not only was it exactly as described and as the pictures showed, it was better in real life. Very spacious lounge area with comfy seating. The kitchen has plenty of equipment and a large Fridge/freezer. Super bathroom with a washing machine, and all the powder/conditioner needed to enable us to wash most of our clothes before we left. The views from the massive balconies was stunning. Being riggt in the town centre you can walk to loads of cafes & tavernas very easily. Right opposite is a bakery/cake shop that sells the most amazing ice cream. Our host, Despoinia was super efficient, explained everything we needed to know and was very ea sy to gef hold of w hen we had a question. Overall a very nice place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay again and we are very happy to recommend this apartment."

"A very unusual and quirky place to stay, it has been converted to a comfortable holiday home on a number of levels ( so you need to have full mobility). Our host was very warm and welcoming and we had some very interesting conversations. the beds were very comfortable , the kitchen was well equipped too. It was a peaceful location set in beautiful gardens off the main road but it was very easy to visit the next village of Palekastro for shopping and eating in the tavernas. Not far into Siteia if you want a busier place. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit to take in the atmosphere. We would recommend for couples and small groups. If you enjoy touring and exploring there are some lovely beaches within 20 to 50 minutes drives depending on your choices. If you like quiet and peaceful beaches try Itanos and Xerocampos. A great holiday, will return."
