Our 2nd failed attempt to get to Wawa. First time we ran out of gas. 2nd time we were stormed out. The weather got so rough we felt like we were gonna blow off the mountain. Had to race the storm back to Pancake Bay dodging large chunks of hail. It was so black behind us. This photo shows the sunny side ahead of us.

Stopped overnight at this campground in Lake Superior National Park. Nearest town of any consequence is Wawa and that is some distance away. The place felt gloriously remote although it is just off the Trans-Canada Highway. This I believe is Rabbit Blanket Lake and nearby is the South Old Woman River. Apart from being very beautiful you just have to love the names! #GreatOutdoors

This wasn't a long hike, but one of the most beautiful I've done in a long, long time.

Lake Superior may be the most 'oceanic' lake in the world.
