Lodge at The Old Barracks
8/10 Good
"Clean room, lots of stairs and no air conditioning if you are there in summer something to think about! Parking free and available behind the building. The convenience of the restaurants was the best part. We had breakfast included and it was amazing at the old barracks restaurant. There is also a great pizza restaurant below the rooms which is fairly fancy. Not open Mondays though. Would stay again."

"Lovely staff, good food, large comfortable room. In the middle of the little town, a short walk from the castle grounds, which are worth a stroll round, and the shops."
Shearwater Hotel & Spa

"Nice hotel in good location. Good sized room and well maintained. Issue with shower not being hot enough - maintenance came twice but issue still not resolved to satisfaction. Staff were apologetic but still a bit annoying. Breakfast quite good but hotel seems to have a teaspoon shortage! Quite good bar meals at reasonable prices. Again, soup could have been hotter."

"Rooms were all clean and tidy, well stocked kitchen and John always responded quickly when a question arose. He greeted us and gave a quick tour of the home, advised of local spots that added greatly to our visit and was a fantastic host. Home is situated perfectly for shopping in either Kinvara or Gort and also very close to many outdoor activities."

"Charming home with everything you need to relax after day trips in the area. Centrally located so we were able to go a lot of places within 2 hours or just in the Banagher/Birr area. Shopping and restaurants were within 15 minutes. Joe and Carmel were very welcoming and provided resources for the area in addition to this fine home. Weather allowed us to enjoy the back patio area . Would come back in a minute!"
