"Full of character and very welcoming staff. Perfect if you want a hotel that is unique, full of charm and history right at the heart of the Medina. The roof terrace with different seating areas is a bonus. might not suit those who like the big hotel chains, but I would choose this every time. "

Royal Victoria - Ex British Embassy
4.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (353)
"I highly recommend The Hotel Royal Victoria - Ex British Embassy, Tunis, Tunisia, for any foreign traveler, not because it is centrally located (next to the Medina) and tour companies frequent this area, not because it is an historically important landmark, not because there are local restaurants within walking, not because all the internal woodworking - doors, ceilings, furniture was updated and all are hand painted by local Tunisian craftsman, not because of the fabulous breakfast buffet, but...

Dar Ya - Hostel
2.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (100)
"Dar Ya is conveniently located in Tunis’ medina with friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and common areas, nice rooftop terrace, and great breakfast (both sweet and savoury options available). One downside was that the wifi was only available in the common courtyard, but not too big of a deal as there’s plenty of seating there."

Dar El Fell Sidi Bou Said - Adults Only
3.5 star property
7.6 out of 10, Good, (35)
"We had a beautiful traditional room with a little step out balcony right above the entrance. This hotel is in the middle of everything! Souvenir shops around you, boumbalini (fried dough for dessert), a sandwich place (basically one of the main shopping areas) but not loud AT ALL. Dar Zarrouk (really nice restaurant for dinner) is very close, we ate there every night. Also, dont forget to spend time on the terrace. I got up every morning for sunrise and each time I went up there, I had the whole...
