"I recently stayed at The Marine Hotel Troon with my 80-year-old disabled mum as a birthday treat. While we booked a deluxe king room with a sea view, which was pleasant, our stay was overshadowed by serious concerns regarding safety and poor communication. The phone in our second-floor room was not working and was constantly engaged. Given that my mum is disabled, this was completely unacceptable and left me extremely anxious, as I had no way to contact reception in the event of an emergency during the night. To make matters worse, no information about breakfast was provided at check-in, and there was nothing in the room either. I attempted to call reception from around 8pm, but due to the faulty phone, this was impossible. I was eventually forced to go down to reception myself after 10pm just to ask basic questions about breakfast times and location. A staff member did come to the room and confirmed the phone was faulty. I specifically asked to be informed once it had been fixed, yet I received no update whatsoever. By the time we checked out at 10:30am the following morning, the phone was still not working, and no explanation, apology, or follow-up was offered. I find it extremely concerning that a hotel would leave guests—particularly vulnerable guests—without a working means of contacting reception overnight, and then fail to resolve the issue or communicate properly. Plenty cutlery and dishes and a plethora of herbs and spices No hairdryers or body wash/ shampoo in the showers which is unusual these days- especially in a property of this quality We enjoyed out stay and hope to return in the future "

"Lovely stay with myself & 2 friends who were working at Ayr races. Found nice places to eat at Harbour Bar and the Tempura Cafe/Bar on Portland St was excellent! Accommodation was very tasteful throughout with a beautiful garden to the rear. Will be looking to return."

"All areas clean and comfortable, had all the facilities we needed for 2 of us.Had to phone the contact as, although given the keysafe number in advance, we were not given the number of the property itself, so difficult to find when we were in the street. Street parking a bit of an issue, twice we had to park quite far down the street, which was an issue when we had to take luggage/food/etc in and out. Overall, we enjoyed the property."
