Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were 2 families staying for a week in August. We enjoyed the location near Truckee very much, as well as the access to the Old Greenwood Swim/Fitness club. Very quiet and peaceful area, surrounded by tall pine trees. It would be useful to include directions to the club in the welcome kit to avoid confusion with the Gray's Crossing golf club. We were also unable to turn off the heat coming from the fireplaces even though there was no need for any heating in the middle of August.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property was perfect for our daughters wedding. There was ample room for everyone, and was it beautiful and clean. Our only issue was lack of supplies. For a high end house such as this, there should have been plenty of garbage bags, paper towels, dish soap and plastic wrap/foil, etc. We had VERY LITTLE of these items and ran out quickly. I suggest these are stocked to make the experience that much better.

Fantastic house, will rent again

My family and I absolutely loved the house at Bottcher Loop!! The bedrooms were spacious and well set up. The living space was great for our party of 7. The fire places put off a lot of heat. Just a heads up, the front door locks behind you, which we unfortunately found out after stepping outside without the keys. Overall, it was a great house, and we look forward to renting it again!

Lots of trails for walking/running. The house is much larger than it appears in the photos and was perfect for two families with small children. We took the little ones for sled rides in the backyard and everyone had a blast! Would definitely stay here again.

The only problem was that we decided to go up during one of the hottest weekends in June. The house did not have A/C but from what I found out many don't in the Truckee area. It didn't ruin our stay but it definitely would have helped during the day. Construction is in full force in the area, it didn't bother us, but I could see it being an eye sore for some. Kitchen was pretty stocked with essentials and so were the bathrooms. Beautiful area to walk the dog and we couldn't have asked for a better stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented the house for 9 people, and it was comfortable and spacious. However, we found on arrival that there was no air conditioning. The management company told us that there would be fans in the home, but they were not there and had to be brought the next day after our arrival as it was not an emergent request. As other reviews have noted, the home is very sparse on extra supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, dish wash liquid) and we had to bring a lot of our own, which is a little bit annoying for how much we paid for the house. There is also no shampoo/body wash/etc and you'll have to bring your own. There are plenty of plates, utensils, and cups/mugs for everyone to use.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice house - great layout for 2 families vacationing together (3 bdrms down - 1 master upstairs). Big kitchen - open and airy. Backyard was great for snow play and the kids had a blast building snowmen. Also a note - there is a blowup bed in the downstairs bunk room which is great if all the kids want to sleep in the same room ( pull out bed in the bottom bunk does not have a mattress). Kitchen is decently stocked and we found everything we needed. Loved the mudroom and entry from the garage and it was easy getting to the house even after a heavy snow storm. The only thing that we thought could use improvement is the furnishing for the downstairs common area - there is just one older chairs no 's quite bare. We would stay here again for sure - lovely house well taken care of and a very nice property in general.

For the price, I'd expect the property management company to provide sufficient amounts of toilet paper, paper towels, and soap/shampoo in the bathrooms, but they don't. The house also had no dish towels and no mats in the mud room, which seemed odd. The garage is VERY tight to get an SUV into - especially when it's snowing. The property management company was very responsive, but they would have to respond less if basic things were taken care of in advance (e.g. stock matches and working flashlights in the house in case the power goes out). We'd probably rent this house again.

Great Home Under Poor Management

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I don't typically write reviews but I feel compelled to write this one. First I'll say that the home itself is big and nicely appointed, great for a big family or multiple couples. We did not have a problem with enough cooking items/ dishes, as mentioned in other reviews. The problems were more to do with management. The first issue was that the snow removal or lack thereof, was very poor, we got stuck on the berm with an X5. The snow had not been removed from the decks and the spare propane tank was covered in a block of ice. We needed the spare propane, as we ran out half way through cooking a nice piece of beef....we could not get the spare out of the ice block. There were no napkins to be found and only a small amount of paper towel left on the one roll. Be sure to bring your own toilet paper, soap, shampoo and dish sponge too. There was only small amounts of toilet paper left on the rolls that quickly ran out and the dish sponge was disgusting and old! The place wasn't as clean as you would expect given the hefty cleaning fee charged to your overall bill. Even with the large cleaning charge you are expected to remove the bedding, take out the garbage and run the dishwasher, all before your strict checkout time of 10 am. The floors had a lot of dust in the corners etc. A big misleading piece of information is the use of the HOA hot tub and pool, this is not the case, you do not get to use them. These amenities are at Old Greenwood, a short drive away, but you do not get to use them as a renter (only guests of the owners). It is written on the binder in the home that it is for guests only. We have a place at Old Greenwood (it was not available on this weekend) and confirmed this with the front desk. The bottom line is be aware of what is included. I'm giving it two stars because the house is great but I will be hard pressed to rent anything from Tahoe Getaways in the future.

Reviewer Comments: Gray's Crossing & Old Greenwood are a convenient and high end locations in the Truckee area, we've rented in the development for many years. While many homes are terrific we found this property to be lacking too many of the basic essentials to make the stay as enjoyable as most high end homes. For example, there isn't enough seating to comfortably accommodate 6 to 8 people on the back deck, in the kitchen or living room. There was a lack of basic kitchen utensils/tools, serving dishes pots & pans to prepare meals, and bedrooms lack enough towels, pillows etc. Had a potential snafu when the gas company showed up to turn off the gas for an unpaid bills and the dishwasher needed repair while we were there. Overall could be a great place if a bit more investment were made by owners.

Wonderful Christmas Experience

Some requests to improve for next time include: Property did not have any cleaning supplies, which made it difficult to keep the home as clean as we would have liked to. I requested a vacuum and broom, which were promptly delivered, but there was still no glass or appliance cleaning solutions. Normally homes in this price range include Net Flix subscription or comparable premium channel service. Only one trash can for a home of this size was also difficult to manage, even with a trash collection day during the week. A second can and more trash bags would have helped. None of the bathroom heated floors were operational? Could have been operator error, but normally these are fairly straight forward to operate.

Amazing and New!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our group of 6 adults and 2 kids had a great time at Bottcher Loop. The house is new and close to old Truckee. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with plates and other cooking equipment. If you have a Nespresso, you can bring your own pods since there is a machine. We had an awesome time at the cabin and were very comfortable! The property management company was great and responsive. They came in earlier in the day before our check in and made sure everything was perfect and turned on the heat!
