"Loved this quaint cottage tucked away from hustle and bustle. Ideal for our short stay and plenty to do and see close by. Lovely walks for the dog. Town of Ulverston has lots to see and plenty of history. Beach at Roadhead was very quiet amd sunset beautiful. Ideal location to see other parts of the lakes. "This accommodation surpassed our hopes. I was with my elderly parents and wanted a property on one level. The fixtures and fittings were of an excellent standard, good quality bedding and towels. Fantastic walk in shower which was safe for my parents and very spacious. All the rooms were spacious and everything we could want was provided. "This is our second visit to Pottery Gate and yet again the cottage was perfect and absolutely immaculate throughout. "We've stayed at this property several times in the past 18 months or so and have always rated in highly in reviews. This time around we felt that the fittings need refreshed. The sofa is stained and the carpets are in need of a clean/renewal. But we'd still come back again. The fittings are modern, the location is peaceful and local amenities are just a short walk away. "Beautiful location and friendly helpful staff. However, there wasn't a walk-in shower (only over the bath) and no handrails. Also the room was very hot and we were advised not to open the windows after dark! "

"The hotel is ideally situated - while not being in an immediately picturesque location, its proximity to the M6, A66 and Penrith North Lakes railway station make it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District in one direction and Yorkshire in the other. The staff are excellent, particularly in the FYR restaurant: friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is equally impressive and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. "
