"Everything was great. Definitely a home away from home with all necessities/cookware provided. 10/10! Will be back."

"A beautiful, well-appointed house at the southern end of the Redwoods. After a full day of visiting the parks, we loved coming back to this secluded little cottage and settling in for the evening. Highly recommended!"

"The cottage is very cozy and very clean and easy to find. The location was isolated enough that you couldn't hear the traffic but close enough to the highway to make access easy. It was a bit strange that there was no microwave. The cottage is mainly heated with a wood stove, but we were really not supplied with the things we needed to start a fire. And the property was not even close to being accessible for anyone with leg issues or injuries because of the steps without railings and the tub...

"Alder Cottage was lovely! It is continently located near the charming town of Trinidad with easy access to the national and state parks. We really enjoyed our stay. It was the highlight of our CA road trip."

"Property was clean outside of some carpet stains, slightly smelly sofa pillows and screens that didn't fir all of the way around. This is mainly a 4 bedroom apartment with the two lower units being long term rentals. One unit has a nice older lady (directly underneath) the other is a family with 3 young children who can be loud at times (crying etc) views not accurate on the site so we have added some truer ones. Beds should be updated except the single one. Views are really nice and it is close...

"Grear"

"The bones of the place were very nice. It's set-up to be cozy and comfortable. However, running communications through a middleman management company is never fun. Answers to questions are not directly addressed. The views from the outer lounge area are not really 'ocean view picture ready'. Telephone poles and lines and limited views through a clearing in the tree's. The hot tub worked great and was a nice addition."

"Property was as described; directions accurate. Issue with the heat but was fixed. Very convenient location. Beds comfy!"

"This house was everything we expected and more. It had terrific ocean views, very easy beach access, clean linens, many cooking supplies, and a nice grill and outdoor patio. The host was available, but gave us our privacy. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area. Pro tip: A good restaurant, called the Moonstone Grill, is across the street. Make a reservation on Open Tables and walk over."

"Wonderful!"

"Clean, quiet, updated and good proximity to everything. We enjoyed our stay."

"We had a very good time Thank you"

"The rooms provide enough comfort if you need a spot just for rest, met all basic needs nicely here without fussing over little details."

"This is a delightful location. It's very peaceful and quiet. The burgeoning garden outside the door is lovely! It's possible to walk up the street and right onto a hiking path through a redwood forest, and have the path essentially all to yourself. Julia went above and beyond to help me with an issue I had in making my reservation. She's a kind and hospitable host! Highly recommended."

"It was clean, warm and cozy"

"Awesome cozy house in Arcata. This was one of our stops from our roadtrip up to Oregon from Los Angeles. After staying in cottages in Carmel and Mendocino it was nice to have the relaxing feeling of a house. Our dog enjoyed the yard a lot for roaming. Hope to return. Highly recommend if you are considering staying here."

"Very clean and organized. We enjoyed our stay."

"Excellent stay! The property was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was responsive and welcoming, and the location was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would happily stay here again."

"Great proximity to Redwoods..and hiking!"
