"We had a lovely warm welcome, the red lion was very clean lots of beers & lager's to chose from.. The room was very clean, everything you needed was there plenty of tea and coffee on the plus side there was a mini fridge, king size bed all the toiletry you need.. the shower was a good size big shower head, made a real change not to have white towels we had a light grey made a huge difference.. The hosts were brilliant, didn’t need for anything. In the evening good entertainment in the pub, we went out local to have food at the priory cafe, which was excellent only a five minute walk away where we had, Sunday roast dinner with all the trimmings good size potions. Had a lovely walk around the castle, and surrounding area, everyone friendly.. the breakfast in the morning was excellent had plenty to choose from for starters toast cereal & yogurt and orange juice.. before having a full English very good portions, couldn’t eat it all.. and also had a pot of tea for two, a lot to have for breakfast included in the price.. free parking around the corner that was the old council parking, few yards from the red lion.. we will be differently coming back again..
