"We enjoyed our week here. The house was fine for 2 adults and 2 teenagers in the sunshine although it might be a bit small if there was as a lot of rain and you needed to be inside - for example only 1 small sofa to sit on and 4 chairs round the table. The swimming pool and padel tennis court were amazing - we loved using them and mostly had them to ourselves all week! The local beaches are beautiful. A kettle would have been a good addition to the kitchen!"

On the negative side, very difficult to find and had to park in an unsecured public car park half a mile away with narrow cobbled streets to negotiate. Breakfast served in room and left the night before was virtually inedible - stale bread and cakes, tea but no kettle, fruit way past its sell by date including black bananas. "Located in a small hamlet about 7 minutes drive from Santillana del Mar and about 10 minutes from beach, playa de Tagle (there is also a walking path to beach that we didn’t use). There is not a beach view from apartment but views across the valley are lovely. Apartment was well appointed and very clean. The beds were comfortable. Owners left a few little snacks, teas, etc - nice touch! Check in was remote (very convenient when unsure of exact arrival time) and parking was available on site....

"This property was a fantastic base to explore Comillas and the surrounding areas of Cantabria. You can be on the beach or in the centre of town in 5 minutes. The property itself has everything you need and is extremely comfortable. The garden has a good outside eating area and a lovely view of the sea and port. Our children (12 & 9) loved the swimming pool and the underground car parking was a brilliant facility. The owner has been extremely helpful both before and during our stay. Thank you...

"Apartment smelled of smoke, washing machine door broken, no cooker , beds uncomfortable very very hard like sleeping on floor. Towel change once a week, no cleaning , cutlery- we had to buy a knife as theirs blunt. Surroundings of building dirty , broken pipes, does not look like the picture. Other hotel - gym dirty and only few equipment , need a car to drive up to it. Very very basic overall. Reception not there on weekends and one day in the week."
