"The hotel is on a square in a lovely part of town, with free parking available on the square and a street back too. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a small pool and space to lounge in the sun. The rooms were very clean and the electric blinds kept out the sun brilliantly. The staff didn't speak much english but we muddled through."

The "spa" only accommodates 2 persons and requires an advance reservation, thus could not be used. Just as the bath, because it was broken. Rotten "complimentary" mandarins. Poor breakfast, only available from 8:30. Set dinner with no choice of meals. If you are willing to cancel your reservation, even if it was made a month in...

"Lovely, quiet place, close to very beautiful scenery and authentic Portuguese rural experience. Loved the burros! But like most pools in Portugal, too cold to use. Not sure why no one installs solar water heaters on a nearby roof top to heat the pool as it would be fairly inexpensive investment. Also wonder why most of all shower enclosures in Europe leak water onto the floor."

"Casas de Campo was like staying at a B&B, the owners were so helpful and welcoming that we had some estate made Port wine and ate the grapes harvested by the grandma. The kids had so much fun in the bunk beds and in the pool. Thank you Jose & João"

"Owner failed to block space on Hotel.com platform. He reluctantly accommodated me but guests arriving just afterwards were left furious. Rural location with no dining choices within walking distance. Room ok but at rate I paid way overpriced."
