Discover the Sights of Port Credit:
The Port is renowned for its scenic parks, many of which span the shore of Lake Ontario. During your visit, stop by Tall Oaks Park (named for – you guessed it – it’s beautiful Oak trees) and take the walking path to the waterfront.
The Waterfront Trail will lead you to Port Credit Memorial Park, with stunning vistas for basking in the area’s natural beauty, trails for hiking or cycling and a playground to keep the kids busy. Throughout the year, it’s one of the most popular spots for festivals and other special events so you just might be treated to a show when you go.
Finally, walk across the pedestrian bridge to visit the heart of the Port, the Lighthouse – a nod to the village’s marine heritage. Head to its deck to enjoy views of the harbour and Credit River.
If you prefer some greenery with your seascapes, the Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens, also located on the shore of Lake Ontario, is one of the many local gems. While the best blooms are visible from May to June, it makes for a lovely walk.
Enjoy the food scene of Port Credit:
Port Credit’s Lakeshore Road and the nearby area is home to a wealth of trendy, classic and delicious restaurants.
For a tasty brunch, look no further than Huevos Gourmet, which serves up Mexican and French fusion dishes like taco and nacho benedicts. They’re not the only fusion option on the block, though! For something on the sweeter side, you’ll love the egg waffles, durian pancakes and black sesame parfaits at Sugar Marmalade. Or, for a casual coffee break with a cool atmosphere, check out the Archtop Café.
For smash burger fans, head to Rosie’s Burgers for lunch. Their crispy, juicy, melty cheeseburgers will satisfy any craving – washed down with a fresh milkshake for the ultimate indulgence.
For a special evening out, Snug Harbour is one of the most popular restaurants in all of the Greater Toronto Area, owing to its prime spot on the waterfront looking out to Lake Ontario – not to mention the impeccable seafood menu. During the warm weather from April to June, Shore Grill and Grotto opens its boardwalk patio. The rest of the year, you can relax in their lounge-like setting while you try their spin on traditional favourites like stone-fired pizza.
