"The owner is very friendly and does a great continental breakfast on the roof top deck. There are two tortoises and turtles on the deck. The stairs to the room are steep but the owner carried our luggage. Room was very clean. "

"Beautiful and quiet. The chef is amazing and our dinner was delicious. The manager/waiter was not so pleasant. I think it may have been a language barrier issue as we don’t speak Italian and he doesn’t speak English and he didn’t have much patience for translating. We also found the men who checked us in were not very welcoming. For such a beautiful hotel the front desk people should be much more welcoming. "Everything was great at this hotel. The location is excellent, the morning buffet is fantastic and the staff are all helpful. Our room was clean and big as well and most importantly for Italy during a heat wave, the AC worked GREAT although we had to close the curtains because the sun came directly into our balcony and the windows were not heat resistant."

"Nice hotel to stay in the Center of the old town, clean, spacious room in a cave, friendly staff, great cave pool, nice breakfast but no parking or driving into the old town though, have to park outside of old town in an allocated carpark (€25/day) and need to pay €15 /way for transfer service into the hotel, overall still very good experience staying inside the magical old Matera"

"I really loved the customer service. Everyone at this hotel was very helpful, understanding and informative. The only thing I didn’t like was that it was away from restaurants or the city and the beach was still a little far given that we didn’t have a car. It wasn’t at a walking distance. However, the shuttle was available to get to the city. "
