The Tokyo Marriott is a wonderful hotel. The staff are incredibly helpful. The hotel itself was very clean and the location is perfect - walking distance to the Shinagawa Train Station.
Did not honor my platinum level because i booked via expedia.
I did not like it. My status was earned, irrespective of which rate i am paying during my stay.
Great hotel and service. In the restaurant, Karim Arnouni was the greatest and always helped us in every way! Spoke great English and French and several other languages. It was like having a great friend discussing the differences in cultures between Japan, France, and the USA.
Marketa in the restaurant was awesome too! She always went out of her way to help us with our special orders, just like Karim!
The staff was always incredible with their ability to quickly fulfill service requests.
Love the hotel and always stay there when in Tokyo!

Extremely noisy from rail traffic, tripping hazard in bathroom, no USB ports and in need of renovation.

Clean hotel. It is NOT a self contained hotel building. It is part of a larger set of business offices etc. It is basically an upscale business hotel. So, expect what you would see in most Japanese business chains like Toyoku Inn and Alpha in terms of room size, but you are paying 100 to 200 dollars more. Not sure why. King size bed is more like a double size bed. Not much walking around space in the room. Expect loud train noise coming from nearby Shinagawa station. you will need a taxi (4500 to 5000 yen to haneda airport) to get to nearby things--700 yen to shinagawa station. There is a free shuttle that will take you to Shinagawa station but this hotel does NOT have a shuttle to and from the airport. A final positive note: There is no lobby. The "lobby" is the restaurant. However, a staff member allowed us to hangout in the executive lounge on the 25th floor for a couple hours after check out since our flight did not leave until 5 PM. That was nice. If you got cash to blow and there is a mystique about staying at a marriott, then go ahead and stay here. But, truth be told, you can basically get that 350 dollar double room for a hundred dollars at Alpha or Toyoku.
