"Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. There website needs updating urgently because directions to the hotel are wrong and confusing. There also needs to be a direct number to the Stag because at the moment if you phone the number on the website it puts you through to a hotel in Bournemouth where staff cannot help you or give you information about directions or any other help."

"Room 10 - right by the office. Handy for car park to rear. Quite noisy when the office is busy. When I arrived the guy on the desk said 3 nights for 3 people (I corrected him - 2 nights for 1 person) I was then shown to a single room which I assume he hadn’t planned to give me. "Good location but very limited evening bus service from the airport. The 308 arrives at the airport from Great Dunmow at about 21.20 and returns immediately to Takeley, before going out of service. My driver was prepared to take me to Takeley Street / Stansted Airport Lodge as it was on her way back to the depot. This bus isn't shown on any of the airport timetables."

"Its not what I didn't like staying at the place. As the place is very reasonable in price concidering the places around the area. For short stays its good. Comfy bed shower and toilet facilities. Place is clean what more do you want. I noticed people want everything for a cheap price. Simple rooms with a bathroom. The couple running the site are lovely and friendly but if booking to stay please read what your needs are. "

"I liked #20 because it was on ground floor. I shared this suite of 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen with a friend. We made our own breakfast with cereals and fruit which was just fine. 5 minute walk to the Abbey. The place is an excellent value. "

"The picture of the rooms are fake, rooms were dirty, smelly and not fit for humans. I would not recommend anyone to use UK.hotels.com as you can't contact any once you have paid the money. "This worked out great for our family. We spent most of our time in nearby Bishop’s Stortford with family. For rest, morning coffee and winding down in the evening, this place was perfect. It was clean and quiet, the mornings and evenings were cool and calm, very relaxing. The place is a bit remote, but that was easily remedied by the superior taxi service we experienced during our stay.
