"The George Hotel is a wonderful place and one that I will remember well. It's near to Hadrian's Wall and many other old Roman sites to explore. The George Hotel has a charm that countryside adventurers will love. Hikers from the wall come and go and share their stories. That bridge and the river provide a scene that you will remember. Although there is no lift, we found out that the room was easily accessible from the upper parking spaces. Staff was super friendly. The food was excellent and just what you would want after a long day exploring. Try the local beers! I definitely recommend."

"Travelling from Scotland it was so easy to leave the A1 and within a few minutes we were at the Hotel. Booked a room with two queen sized beds so loads of room. Very clean and 5 minutes walk to the Metro Centre. Hotel has a bar and grill. Food was good and reasonably priced. I would definitely go there again if I was visiting Newcastle. "
