Adirondack Retreat Near Whiteface and Lake Placid

"We enjoyed our stay at the Cascade Mountain Chalet. The king beds and couch were comfy. The kitchen had all the gadgets and cookware you would need with a commercial size gas range. Our favorite was the hot tub after a day of hiking. Judi was an attentive host and made us feel welcome and was accessible if we needed her. Nice side yard to play in and walk the dog. We enjoyed the attractions nearby and had a great meal at a host recommended restaurant nearby."

"First of all the question that I look for answered is "would you having experienced the house want to come again?" Yes I would. It is located with easy access to both Whiteface and the High Peaks to the South. Both summer hikers and winter skiers will love the proximity to the trails and slopes. The house is spacious and has large areas to support many people or a large family. It was clean, well furnished, and both AC units worked very well. The hot tub was a family favorite. Our host was very responsive and cordial."

"The Barn is my new favorite place on VRBO. The interior and the exterior were beautifully maintained and the hosts even set a campfire for us. It's a recent build that still smells of fresh pine and the kitchenware, towels and bedding were all top level. We visited the Olympic sites close by and the town of Lake Placid was just a short drive away. Communication was excellent and it was a fabulous week!"

"Absolutely perfect place to stay for a 3-generational family of 12. Immaculate, with plenty of space and amenities to accomodate all of us. Perfectly situated with stunning views of Whiteface Mountain and star-filled nightime skies, whether it be from the campfire, the deck, or the hot tub. The kid-friendly walk to the Ausable River was a hit, as was grilling marshmallows over the campfire. Highly recommended!"

"Perfect house for a multi-generational group getaway!We stayed here with a group of 8, spanning multiple generations, and this house could not have been a better fit. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and just as much space for all of us to gather together. We kept a puzzle going on the table all week, and the garage ping pong table quickly became a favorite spot for friendly competition. For anyone who wanted some quiet time instead, there were cozy little nooks perfect for tucking in with a book.The kitchen was a real highlight. It was spacious and had everything we needed to cook dinner for the whole group every single night. Outside, we loved gathering around the firepit in the evenings, and the outdoor table was great for meals in the fresh air.The location was wonderful too, close to everything we wanted to see and do. And Terry, the host, made everything even better. He checked in with us a few times just to make sure we had all we needed, which we really appreciated.We can't recommend this place enough for multi-generational trips or any large group looking for a home away from home!"

"From the moment we checked in, Roger made the experience exceptional. He was one of the friendliest hosts I’ve met in a long time—welcoming us in, showing us around our room, and pointing out several activities and places to explore during our stay.My favorite part was easily the view—absolutely extraordinary, to say the least. The location was perfect as well: Lake Placid was only about a 15-minute drive away, with tons of great shops and restaurants to choose from.For anyone who enjoys the outdoors, Whiteface Mountain is right down the road and offers either an incredible hike to the summit (around 5 hours round trip) or a scenic drive up in about 20 minutes. At the top, there’s even an observatory with breathtaking views.Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with easy access to adventure, dining, and sightseeing. To top it all off, they’re dog-friendly, which makes it even better for travelers bringing their furry companions along. Will be stopping here for a stay on our next adventure to the north! 10/10's"
