Location near the train station was very convenient. Less than 5 minutes walk and lots of places to eat in the area. The hotel and surrounded area is very clean and quiet. The automatic check in process is not for everyone, but the staff will assist with this. Keep your booking number at hand because you will need it for the check-in and check-out process. I will stay here again!

The location right in front of the station and the comfort of the hotel room were excellent. One disappointing aspect, however, was that I was unable to use the self-check-in process because the necessary code—which was supposed to be sent via email—never arrived.

Nice clean room and very convenient for the station. ideal for a few nights stay and near to bars restaurants etc. linked to a bigger Tulip hotel next door for an excellent breakfast. Generally an Unmanned reception but communication was ok when needed.

My absolute favorite hotel in Leiden. I am always so impressed with it that I have returned time and again. Right near the train, so close and walkable to all of the things that Leiden offers. Perfect location and place to stay when in the Netherlands.

We had a good time at Hotel VIC! It was clean and the staff was very nice. Our only complaints are that checking in and out was difficult after booking through Expedia (we weren’t given the reservation numbers which were needed to check in / out on their automated system, and there wasn’t anyone staffing it when we needed to check out), and that the mirror / low lighting situation in the rooms make it difficult to apply makeup. Overall a good experience though!

It's worth noting that the shower and washbasin are in the bedroom, not in a separate room. Also, be sure to set the Do Not Disturb button by the door to avoid being rudely awoken by the cleaner ringing the bell repeatedly. Otherwise it's a good spot, well situated for the station.

Hotel is lovely. Rooms spacious, quiet with safe and fridge. Staff incredibly helpful especially with checkin (terminal in reception which we had to use didn’t accept any booking references we held and others struggled to check in electronically as well)

Took me over 40 mins to check in. No staff available on reception to help out. Just a self service check in screen which didn’t recognise my booking so had to phone a number that was unrecognised. Was extremely stressful and I was late to my dinner reservation. I asked for a double room on my booking but when I got to the room it was a twin room- but of course no staff in reception to rectify this. Beds were not comfortable and the room was dimly lit. Not enough lighting in the room at all. Very moody lighting but not practical. Albeit very clean room and nice shower area. Very good location too being next to the main station Wouldn’t stay here again!

A lovely hotel that is very conveniently located in the charming city of Leiden. I wish I could rate it higher, but the utter lack of staff (there is literally no staff) keeps me from rating the hotel higher. I have stayed in self check in hotels before, but this one stands out for its confusion. If you arrive in the evening there is no way to get into the hotel, and there is no assistance of any kind if there is the checking in process is a problem. They give you a phone number to call, but I was unable to get the call through. Then I was locked out of my room and I had to go to the hotel next door to find assistance. The peacefulness of the room is, sadly, outweighed by the anxiety of how poorly check-in works. This is a large hotel. They should have at least one person available in the evening to help new arrivals. The same is true for check out. Until they solve this problem, I will stay at a different hotel in Leiden

Check in was simple as long as you have the booking code - it is sent to you from the hotel, NOT hotels.com. I did not have it but someone came straight away when called to help me. The room was spacious and had a coffee machine and a fridge and a comfy bed. The location is great - so close to the train station and also just a few minutes walk into the town center. I got breakfast at nearby restaurants so did not try the hotel breakfast (next door). Would definitely stay there again
