The Kempton Hotel was perfect for a one night stay on a road trip across Montana. I didn’t mind the shared bathroom especially considering the stay was inexpensive compared to anything else around. I wouldn’t use the shower though. It is perfect if you want a budget friendly charming historical place to stay. The air conditioning worked well and staff was nice.

If your desire is to travel back in time to the 1800's and experience what they had for hotel comfort, this hotel is for you. The lady that checked me in was obviously irritated I arrived late and showed it... The hotel has a common toilet and shower located down the hall and not in the rooms. The bed was very uncomfortable which made sleeping difficult so I just left after a few hours and hit the road again. I didn't expect this ancient of a hotel to even be listed with Expedia...Fortunately, I only stayed one night.....

Very unique property, we loved it. With that being said, we went in with expectations appropriate to the stay. We were aware of no bathroom in the room and were okay with this. We didn't ever wait to use the restroom or shower. The property is in pretty good shape considering how long its been in operation. The price was great, the bed was clean and comfortable, and the stay was nice. The decor was wonderful, we really enjoyed it. Very kitschy and cute. If you're looking for a different experience and your expectations are reasonable, definitely stay here

What an absolute gem of a property! I love everything about this hotel. It's been beautifully updated but also retains its century-old charm. The staff is wonderful, the bed and linens perfectly comfortable. Will stay here every time I pass through this part of Montana.

We arrived at the hotel before they received the reservation notice from Expedia; therefore did not have our reservation but made room for us and gave us an upgrade with our own bathroom.
