We were driving around and came across this beautiful little church on a hill. We decided to walk to it through a hail storm. It is a 12th century church and is the highest church in England. The rock that it rests on is formed from basaltic lava which was formed 350 million years ago in a shallow sea. It is unusual as the rest of the moor is mostly made of granite.

"Booked as a self-contained room thinking it had a kitchen. It did - shared by the rest of the rooms on the floor. Hmmm. "AVOID. Difficult to know where to start. This apartment was mis-sold, as it is student accommodation (10 bedrooms per flat). Each guest has shared access to the common room, housing the kitchen and sofa. "I needed a two night break to surf, see friends and get some space to recharge my batteries. The staff were most friendly and helpful. The accommodation was perfect and very clean, double bedroom with bathroom and towels, with a living room and small self catering kitchen. It was perfect for what I needed. I didn't actually use the other facilities but they looked nice. I thoroughly recommend this resort. Thank you for a wonderful time!"
