Farmstay in Tasmania

"The rural sheep farm offered quiet, a modern cabin, excellent food dinner, a wonderful farm tour that included wallabies, echidnas, a sheepdog herding demonstration, and an up-close sheep shearing demonstration. The owner is gracious and informative in several languages. We spent 2 nights enjoying comfortable beds and the calls of many interesting birds and animals. Nearby we can also recommend the gin distillery tasting and hiking the 3 waterfalls at Mt. Field national park. "

"We had a excellent stay at Silver Ridge. The self-contained cabin was perfect for us, and the views around the property are amazing. The indoor pool was a very nice bonus. "

"The wool classers shed was well appointed and very comfortable . A bit small for more than one nights stay but otherwise quite nice. The road in and the road through to St Helens is suitable for Toyota Landcruiser type vehicles but not for regular sedans, its riddled with corrugations. I guess that's our fault for not researching things before hand. But Icena farmhouse is comfortable and quiet."

"Tara's Farmstay was a great experience for us. The cottage is quite cosy and contains everything one needs. The animals around the property made the kids quite happy. Having fresh out of the oven bread delivered to your door with home-made jam has been a first of its kind experience, truly enjoyed by all! The hosts are welcoming and a treasure of information for the suroundings. Certainly thinking of coming back."

"great little farm stay with gettaway features however was a little difficult for those staying with mobility issues. Location was a little further away from places to do day trips but that was our bad on research. Also if health issues not a concern (they were here) a good all round stay. Needs some extra crockery and cutlery so you dont need to wash after each meal. The gent who stayed loved the cats and Alison was a great host!"

"We selected this property specifically for fishing opportunities as alluded to in the listing. No bites from any point of the river on property and only area easily accessible to the shallow river was the “beach” which is an embankment. Per host’s recommendation we drove off road (need FWD) approx 2 mi to another property access point-no fish. *We discovered Beauty Bay jetty in St Helen’s to be a wonderful fishing spot-<10 min drive."
