This is a (short) long exposure shot of Split Apple Rock, which is located just south of the Abel Tasman National Park, between Kaiteretere and Marahau. After a 10 minutes walk down through some bush you come out to a long stretch of deserted golden sand, with the unmistakable Split Apple Rock sitting just off shore.

We arrived just after sunset (which meant it was dark when had to walk back up through the bush!) to a incoming tide and a calm sea. If you look closely you can see that the rock is used as a perch for the local Shag's (Cormorants), and there are a few perching in the trees as well.

"i traveled the seven seas, to stay in this wonderful location sirround with firn trees and breathtsking views. i will remember it a lifetime also the chef that comes with it. i cant decide whether to call it Garden Eden or Paradise Beach, so i go for Garden Paradise :-)"

"We had the most amazing stay at drift off grid. The place was even more beautiful than I remember from the Expedia photos. Stunning views, extremely comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom and the hospitable touches from our hosts Jana and Drew were lovely. Our favorite accommodation in New Zealand by far! "

"It was an absolutely perfect 6-day holiday. In no way could it have been improved. Our personal chef was superb, very friendly and hospitable and produced fine-dining breakfasts and dinners. The location was brilliant, nestled between trees down via the private access footpath to the beach. Kayaks and a paddle board was available during our stay. In summary, we felt you could not better our holiday. Thank you so much Valeriy!"
