"Amazing setting and beautiful grounds Great place for wedding celebrations However the rooms were rather small with limited facilities for the price paid. Breakfast times restricted to 8-10 , would extend to accommodate guests’needs. Also a bit disappointing you had to pay a supplement to have half of the items on the menu"

"Large, comfortable room with a modern en-suite. Very amenable and accommodating hosts with nice ideas such as putting on complimentary food in the bar during England World Cup games. We had a “simple” pie & chips from the menu and it was terrific with, as promised, real gravy. We didn’t have full English breakfast but the toast on the Continental option from a local artisan baker was fab. Lots of little touches that make the Royal Oak a little different from the ordinary."

"Easy check-in with friendly staff. Courtyard room was very nice. Bar is “OK” but the excellent barman made having a drink there a pleasure. Wide choice for breakfast."

"Room was tired and need refresh, cracked decor. Beds were clean. Light pollution from garden into room, lack of decent curtains. No breakfast during weekdays, did not bother with weekend. Noisy environment from pub and landlord’s flat next to room. Would not recommend."

"We had a lovely stay. The cottage is beautiful and kept really well. There is ample parking and a café next door. There's not much more than that around without a car though, but it's very peaceful."
