They saved us a perfect parking spot right outside and provided excellent recommendations for the area including dining which was very good. Room was clean and spacious and we slept very well. The breakfast they made was delicious as well! Cannot recommend highly enough, a wonderful stay and hosts!"

"I can't say enough about this property and the women that run it. It's clean and a close location to Bellagio, but when we got off at the wrong bus stop in pouring rain, Laura arranged for a coworker to come pick us up and bring us to the hotel. She also gave us a ride into Bellagio and helped to get our boat tour to be re-arranged. Amazing! Our room had a fantastic view and the breakfast was the best of our entire week in Europe. Five stars all the way for this place and the amazing Laura. "

"A little gem, tucked away in a side street in Colico. Surprisingly sophisticated and with an excellent restaurant. The staff, especially the stylish manageress, were welcoming and friendly. Definitely recommended."

"Really good location as it’s a 5 min walk from the train station also very close to the ferry. The room is on the smaller side but that’s expected in Varenna. The gentlemen at the reception was very helpful and they were able to accommodate for late check-in. I would recommend this spot and for the location and the value."

"This is an older property with an incredible view of Lake Como. The front desk staff were exceptional and super helpful. The room could use a little TLC but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The balcony had the best view of the lake. We spent most of our time on that balcony. There is a delicious pizza place next door. Gated parking for a fee but it was worth it and super convenient. I would definitely stay here again. "

"This is simply stunning bed and breakfast. But that’s it. Mountain View in Lecco. Immaculate place with zero room amenities. A common area for use at certain times and a beautiful pool. Breakfast one hour only, we didn’t take it as it’s served too late. Many rules including no eating in a room with no fridge or coffee maker. 20 min drive to Lecco Centro and 45 mins to como. "

A week at Villa Ornella - a family with 3 young boys

"If you are looking at visiting the Lake Como area with your kids, or other families, I strongly recommend Mandello and Villa Ornella. The layout of the house is great, the size perfect to accommodate 2 or even 3 families and Furio was a great host. It was just me and my wife and our 3 young (and restless) boys and we had a great time. The pool and the living room with the amazing veranda were perfect family entertainment areas. The location is great as well - Mandello is close to everything yet not as crowded as other more "touristy" locations around the lake. The town's waterfront is great with a good number of nice, kid-friendly, restaurants and other attractions. Strongly considering going back again!"
