  • Last night we went to a Taoist Temple in Taipei. You can see in the close up picture of people praying how they receive and answer immediately from the prayers. After kneeling and bowing, you throw two "stones" onto the floor. They are both crescent shaped with a sun and a moon side. If they end up both on one side, the answer is NO. If they end up both on the other side, the answer is maybe, or not enough information. If the end up like a ying and a yang, then the answer is YES. I took a moment to pray, asked my question and got a ying and a yang out of the throw. The belief is, that the result comes from within your own heart.

The hotel was located in an area that was very easy to get to the mass transit. 2 train lines within in walking distance. The breakfast has an array of items to choose from. I did have to ask that the bacon be cooked more thoroughly and they had no problem accommodating my request. The doorman was always ready to offer an umbrella to take with you if there was rain in the forecast. That was a very pleasant surprise. The fitness center was another plus for this hotel, especially after that breakfast. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel to family, friends, and colleagues.

The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Very professional, they made it easy for us to check in and get situated and also get safe, reliable transportation to the airport upon departure very early in the morning. Rooms were quite nice and had good natural light. The location is a bit of a walk from the nearest metro station, but very doable. Breakfast was amazing, very high-quality and professionally done. All About, the Riviera Hotel was a very professional operation, and we would definitely stay again.
