We stayed in a detached hut, which was a cool (and air conditioned) place for our family of 3.Two gorgeous pools and a lovely palapa let us cool off in the heat of the day. Delicious Yucatecan food from the restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Amazing birdwatching on the property. Not much nearby except for Mayan ruins at Ake. But this lovely place IS your escape. "

"Shambalanté is truly a hidden jewel in the heart of the Yucatecan jungle—a sanctuary for the soul. From the moment you arrive, time seems to slow down, replaced by a deep sense of peace, quiet, and connection with nature. Everything about this place invites you to breathe more deeply, to let go, and to reconnect with yourself and with the nature around you. The surroundings are simply magical, and the atmosphere feels both grounding and gently transformative. And the food… absolutely wonderful. Thoughtfully prepared, nourishing, and full of flavor, it complements the entire experience beautifully. If I had known just how special Shambalanté is, I would have stayed a full week instead of just three days. Thank you to Doris, Ricardo, and the rest of the team. I will definitely be back."

"We stayed at Hotel San Juan for 3 nights and overall had a good stay. The hotel’s biggest advantage is its excellent location, with Mérida’s main attractions, restaurants, and shops all within easy walking distance. Our room was spacious and well-equipped with reliable Wi-Fi, a smart TV, air conditioning, and a ceiling fan. We also enjoyed the pool after a day of sightseeing. There were a few things that could be improved. The bar next door plays loud music at night, which made it difficult to sleep. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 9am on our first morning while we were still asleep after arriving late the night before. The shower took around five minutes for the hot water to come through, and it would have been nice to have complimentary drinking water or a refill station. The toilet seat was also a little unstable and bent inwards when using it."
